Hi, water is a great conductor of electricity. It is likely nothing to be concerned about in this case though, if you light the burners and allow the water to burn off/evaporate from the ignitors it should be fine. It happens all the time with gas ranges and cooktops. Once the ignitors are dry they will stop conducting/sparking unwanted. Hope that helps calm your concern. Check fuse in plug!

had same problem. Used fine sandpaper on the little head (just above the white ceramic) that creates the spark. over the years the edges of the littel metal ring had gummed up but a 1 min sanding got it down to shinny metal and it sparked nicely.

Be sure all caps are on correctly, then make sure the igniter is clean. Try using a tooth brush with soft scrub around the igniter, rinse, dry and try it
