Nice job not answering the guys question. Worse than MS haters are MS haters that don't know jack.
Get a PSP or Creative power adapter. Charge it by the wall. The Zen has issues that if it fully dies, it doesn't have enough juice to even be recognized by the computer, causing it not to charge. By plugging in the PSP or Creative charger (Or a compatible 5v charger) for at least a minute, you'll get that initial boost needed to charge it by USB.
Better yet, just keep charging it by AC at that point since it's faster. This is a common issue with a completely dead Zen. If it STILL doesn't work after that, you need to get a new battery for your Zen, but I am 90% sure this will work.
Yes it sucks, but the Zen is still better than the iPod, and let's not say the iPod was perfect when it came out either, it had it's share of issues.
