Question about Creative Labs ZEN Vision:M Digital Media Player
Player won't power up today after about 3 months of use. Was fully charged the previous day. Player isn't recognized by my computer when hooked up through USB. Downloaded Creative's firmware update and tried to run but I received an error message saying my player wasn't connected to my computer.
Nice job not answering the guys question. Worse than MS haters are MS haters that don't know jack. Get a PSP or Creative power adapter. Charge it by the wall. The Zen has issues that if it fully dies, it doesn't have enough juice to even be recognized by the computer, causing it not to charge. By plugging in the PSP or Creative charger (Or a compatible 5v charger) for at least a minute, you'll get that initial boost needed to charge it by USB. Better yet, just keep charging it by AC at that point since it's faster. This is a common issue with a completely dead Zen. If it STILL doesn't work after that, you need to get a new battery for your Zen, but I am 90% sure this will work. Yes it sucks, but the Zen is still better than the iPod, and let's not say the iPod was perfect when it came out either, it had it's share of issues.

I think this is more a Microsoft problem than a Creative problem. Seems WMP10 has issues w/ Zen. Considering MS is competing with this device, they may be lacking on it's support. What does MS care if your CREATIVE product doesn't work? They'd say just buy Zune to ensure compatibility.... and now you see the problem of a monopoly for PC OS.

The service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

This is what I found. Windows Media Player 11 messes it up. All you have to do is uninstall anything Windows Media Player 11 and then run the firmware upgrader. It's some sort of but. You can reinstall WMP when your done installing the firmware. I found it on the creative forum.
