Question about HP Pavilion a1640n (RC663AA) PC Desktop

PC disconnects from Internet

I have a HP Pavilion A1640N connected via a wireless modem. Frequently (several times a day) I am disconnected from the Internet even though I continue to have a strong wireless signal. This has occurred (it seems to me) when I am browsing the Web and clicking on a link supplied by a previous link, etc., etc. This also happens when I click on a link (or links) given to me via an email. I leave my PC on overnight. Almost always it will have been disconnected by the morning (NOT always). Again, my modem signal is strong.

Any help would be appreciated.

Usual causes of Internet Disconnection:
1. System is Cluttered by junk files, cache files and other unnecessary files.
2. More client-applications installed that needs server connection
3. Block by your own firewall application


Resolution:
1. Clear History Files, Cache Files, Cookies and Junk Files. You can use CCleaner Application or Advanced SystemCare Application to clear History Files, Cache Files, Cookies and Junk Files
and even optimize your system performance.

2. Temporarily remove client-applications installed that needs server connection.

3. Disable your own Firewall Application temporarily

4. Refresh Network connection by Disabling and Enabling it.
5. If you are connected to a Router, restart your Router if not, reset it..

Pls check if there any virus becoz this could happen due to some heavy virus downloads or distruption. Update your anti virus software properly. There are so many viruses and Worms which can distrupt your wireless internet.
Secondly, your wireless configration software has been corrupted. pls re-install it.

My router disconnect frequently


Question: the connection to router disconnects OR the internet disconnects,
If router disconnect: then try being in range, choose a better spot, keep router in a good spot,
If internet disconnects, cal ISP get it checked, make sure you run ping test to make sure its consistent , here is an example,
E.g:
open run: type cmd, hit enter,
type : ping google.com -t
hit enter, it should give regular pings without timeouts....if too many timeouts, internet service has issues,
call them and report..

Frequent Disconnection From Internet


disconnecting from internet is a bad configuration of the Modem Router.Also bad signal from your internet provider.check all wiring,and telefone line that holds the ADSL signal.rusted telephone line connections do that trouble.

Why are you using two routers,these might be conflicting with each other? Somtimes the drivers need updating.Try this first,and if this fails,disconnect the cable modem and just connect the wireless router to the main phone line socket via a modem filter and connecting a wireless adapter to your pc and install the driver for this adapter.The signal from the phone socket connection to the wireless router situated close to the main phone socket.Then connect the adapter to the usb port on your PC,and let the driver software and PC do the rest.That's all I've got on my PC.

Cannot access the internet


I have looked at and reviewed your problem with your HP laptop DV6700Z and have the fallowing for you to aces.
First, if you are trying to access the internet via wireless, wait until you have established and wired connection.
If the blue light comes on in the front panel, the wireless is working, if not, you have a problem with the wireless modem.
Run a wire from your laptop to your modem and enter your my network, choose setup a internet connection.
Try to make a internet connection. Once you have established a connection, you can setup your wireless connection.

I need to set up my IP provided WiFi router-modem (Westell 327M) for use with my two laptops, such that the router-modem provides me internet access via ethernet cables (not interested in the WiFi aspect...


first check with the ISP if any DNS server settings or proxy settins are required(but i think you can alternatively connect your laptops these may have ben already set on the laptops but just in case)

now if your ISP accepts you to have more than one connection from the same link then you can connect the connect the cable from the modem to the INTERNET/WAN areas and you can connect the ethernet cables in the ports marked 1,2,3,4

here check that if you are only etting the link on the computer connected to port1 and no connection on the others then make a small adjustment disconnect the cable from WAN/Internet port and connect it to the Port1 and the computers to 2,3,4

now that you are saying that u r not interested in the wifi so it is advisable that you go to the home page of the router and from there to the wireless page and disable the wireless broadcast of the router for safety purposes

this can be changed any number of times back and forth

INTERNET EXPLORER CANNOT FIND THE WEBPAGE


Hi there.
Reset the modem and the wireless router by disconnecting the power for 30-60 seconds, then plug them back in again wait 2 mins and then try to reconnect to the internet.

looks ur internet setting is not right on ur new laptop for the modem u are using....call ur internet provider and ask them for technical advise and help

Not sure if I understand properly but your router should have a WAN port or an "Internet" port

your modem should be connected to it and your PC should be on any of the LAN port
