Question about Uniden BC72XLT Handheld Scanner
The radio is scanning on frequencies that were previously programmed, and when the manual button is pressed, it beeps, the display clears, but the keypad buttons don't respond and you cannot enter frequencies. Is it possible to re-set the microprocessor? Will this help, and how is it done? Any suggestions appreciated. This is a nice scanner, which worked great until XMAS day!! Thanks in advance for your help- Mike.
Try a master reset. You will lose all of your current programming but it resets the unit back to its original state when you purchased it. here are the directions from page 53 in your manual.
Resetting the Scanner
If the scanner's display locks up or stops operating
properly, you might need to reset the scanner.
Caution: This procedure clears all the information
you have stored in the scanner. Before you reset the
scanner, try turning it off and on to see if it begins
working properly. Reset the scanner only when you
are sure it is not working properly.
1. Turn off the scanner.
2. While holding down 2, 9, and Hold, turn on the
scanner. It takes about 3 seconds to initialize
and CLEAr appears.
