Question about Sony Playstation 3 (PS3) Console
Whenever I play a BD movie on my PS3 (connected to a Full HDTV), the screen flickers a little on the lower area. This does not happen when I play games or watch regular DVD's, and it doesn't happen either when I watch the BD movies on a regular TV using the A/V cables. I tried playing wit hthe settings on the PS3, but no luck whatsoever. Can somebody please help me out? I dunno if this is useful or not, but the TV I have is a Sony Bravia (SL series, 40 ").
Does it do this with all Blu-Ray movies?
Have you tried a different HDMI cable?

Save hours of searching online or wasting money on unnecessary repairs by talking to a 6YA Expert who can help you resolve this issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.

If your TV has a 120 mhz setting, turn it off. My blu-rays (and some regular DVDs) were having problems as well, but this solved it. Basically, the 120 mhz setting is just too good, even for a PS3.
The setting may have other names, but whatever it's called on your TV, it's responsible for providing extra scaling/processing from the source (your PS3).
Also, make sure your PS3 is NOT set to double-scale. "Normal" is just fine.

I posted to your problem with a similar one. I was able to get my PS3 to work by:
1.) Powering down both the PS3 and ViewSonic LCD
2.) Unplugging the power cables to both PS3 and LCD
3.) Waiting at least 10 or more seconds
4.) Plugging in the power cables to both PS3 and LCD
5.) Turning on the ViewSonic LCD
6.) Turning on the PS3 and holding down the power button until the beep
After this sequence I heard the bootup audio and the menu appeared on the screen- which detected the HDMI connection to my LCD.
Very odd.. I've had my PS3 in the same place for months and just today this happened.
I wanted to post my success. Best of luck!

Is could be your TV and not the PS3. When the resolution of the screen changes, you TV will flicker to adjust to the new resolution. My TV flickers in a similar way when playing games of lower resolution than my HDTV.

I have the same TV, and a Sony BluRay player (not a PS3). I have the same problem.
I found it only does this when playing back 24p disks. My player has an option to disable 24p output to the HDMI, and it "fixes" the problem.
Not really a fix, but a workaround.
Not sure whether it is the TV or player, and sometimes I have fixed it by turning the tv off and on multiple times.
I am going to test the player on another monitor and see if it does the same thing. If so, the player is going back to the store.
