I tried resyncing from the main screen, but one of the wiimotes still didn't work. I read to smack the wiimote facedown in your hand a couple of times, and that worked!!!

Apparently the motion sensor can get stuck inside, although it doesn't totally make sense, because previously when the wiimote didn't steer, it still moved on the screen to choose character, car, etc.

Your second remote is not sync'd to your wii permently. When you by a wii it comes with 1 ready sync'd controller. When you buy a second remote you have to connect it every time you change channels, start games or turn your wii on and off. Mario cart rquires the second controller to be permently sync'd. Start your wii when on the main screen with you wii channels displayed open the media card slot on the front of your wii and press the little red sync button then open the battery cover on your second wii remote and press the little red sync button under ther cover and wait. Your wii remote is now permently connected. Re start mario cart select 2 players when you get to the remote scrren you do not need to press + to add a new remote just press A on remote 2. You are now ready to play.

Is there a Nunchuck plugged in that would make the steering useless. if not try plugging in a nunchuck and steer with the nunchuck using the analog stick and see if that changes anything

The problem with my Wii controller is that it turns but when you hold it straight it turns to the left, therefor I have to hold it on an angle to go straight.
Can anyone help me???

Steering wheel locks never lock straight ahead as the idea is that if the car is being stolen it will turn a circle rather that move straight

What can be the solution's, I am typing the letters on the keyboard and it is printing all different characters on the paper -- is there a command set that should be cleared?

First pull out printwheel and see if the "spokes" are even and straight, Second try a new wheel, and third, on this Brothers, when you turn it on the carrier has to go to the left and you will hear the wheel turn and cycle to the correct home spot. Some times there is a arm that comes out of the left side frame that loosens up and throws the time off, check for loose bracket on left side. But a new wheel may solve the problem Good Luck.

Straightening the wheels for now

turn your steering wheel straight
look at both wheel to see which one is not straight ( may be both )
loose the tie rod end locking nut and turn the rod to whichever way that make the wheel straight.

Smith Corona wordsmith types wrong characters sometimes.

look for bent or broken spokes on the print wheel, if turning off for 10 seconds doesn't work.

If the characters are showing up different than the ones you pushed then your wheel is probably bent. First, open the clear cover on your ml100. Second there is a black lever that you pull towards you. Next, you pull the wheel out and if any of the arms on it are bent than straighten them out, and make sure none of the arms are over lapping. Next, return the wheel, push the black lever back into place, close the clear cover and then hold down the code button and press the reset key (the "q" key). If that does not work then you need a new wheel. This is what just worked for me, I hope it helps.
