My computer screen turns blue and restarts window vista

Hi jjlishus,

I see you mentioned that you are having issues with you computer going into a blue screen then it restarts.

You can try to boot into safe mode to see if Windows Vista will Load without having the bluescreen and if it will not shut down or restart, from Safe Mode, try and do a system restore to a data where the problem has not happened yet.

From there-on see if the issue will still happen or no

Getting into Safemode:
restart PC keep on tapping F8 on your Keyboard this will prompt you options, Look for Safemode then press enter this should bring up the safemode screen.

If during the loading of safemode and still happens are any error show up or it goes to a blue screen, you can try going into safemode with command prompt.
to get to safemode in command prompt just do the same as ging into safemode and select safemode in command prompt.

once in the command prompt
Type CHKDSK , then press enter it should check the system for 5 mins or so depending on your PC/Laptops speed.

if still the issue is the same reformatting or restoring your windows back to defaults may fix the issue.

I hope that this will help,

Hi there,

You have mentioned that your computer works in safemode. This means that there are programs that starts up with windows that is causing this problem. In safemode, click start then run. In the run box type msconfig then click ok. At the startup tab you will see the programs that starts up with xp. Try disabling some or all of them (trial and error) to check which software gives you this problem.

Laptop wiull not startup as normal

If you are using Win XP:

1. download these programs from another PC.
(a) Combo Fix http://www.softpedia.com/progDownload/Combofix-Download-152805.html

(b) MalwareBytes http://download.cnet.com/Malwarebytes-Anti-Malware/3000-8022_4-10804572.html

Transfer these 2 programs in a Flashdrive. Boot Up the Laptop in Safemode. If you able to get the system running in safemode, then run the ComboFix first. Follow all the instruction which it shows to you. This might take several minutes. Once its complete it will boot the Laptop in normal mode. After that you can install MalwareBytes for final Scan to clear out any infected leftovers.

Getting past password when turning on

No, actually would be quite easier if you booted the laptop in safemode. once in safemode, you will see a user name that ordinarily is not there. This user name is called "Admin" or "Administrator".

Click on Admin and go to control panel, user accounts, click on the one your daughter messed with, and select delete password. From there, you can leave it deleted or create new one yourself.

to boot to safemode, follow these steps:
1) restart laptop
2) repeatedly press F8 and windows utility screen will appear. From here, select safemode
**Don't be alarmed by the bunch of jibberish you will notice on screen as system boots up to safemode.
Once your mission has been accomplished, simply reboot once more and system will automatically boot normally.

Dell Inspiron E1405 Keyboard and touchpad stop responding when bootup gets to Windows password screen. Any ideas as to why? Thanks in advance.

could be a problem with drivers. Try to start windows in safemode. To start in safemode keep pressing F8 imediattly after the laptops starts and will show up a screen, choose safe mode. If in safemode works use system resotre and restore to an earlier time when worked.
