My daughter was SO SO excited when she received Hannah Montana Disney Pix Digital camera from christmas she cried. She cried MORE when she took her first picture and didn't see anything on the display screen it was completely blue! NOTHING! $40.00 down the darn drain and my daughter feelings crushed on Christmas. I couldn't afford to purchase her anything else. Called support that 1-888-800-0507 something like that,,,,,it took me twenty-one minutes to tell me to return it. WHAT! They said its a defect! WHAT! When I returned the camera they didn't HAVE any, now she is really UPSET!

There's no bulb to burn out. She may have yanked out the USB cord without using the "safely remove hardware" function. Now you need to reset the camera...go into the menu and find "reset" and follow the on-screen instructions.
if you hear the little beep and the light on the front of the camera blinks then you took a picture. the lcd screen on the back should count your pictures. i had trouble getting the computer to recognize the camera to get the pictures off. it seems that the drivers for the camera were not included on the install CD, but they can be found here: http://digiblue.com/customer-service/downloads/ just click on the first download under the "Driver Downloads" section. Hope this helps.
That is actually the exact same thing I am experiencing but mine has grey lines on the display window. I was able to take photos to a grey screen connect it to my comp...low and behold my pics showed....I am furious....need some answers as I will never hear the end of it from my daughter.
hi! my sister-in-law gave me a MD853 camera last week from Canada. I used it over the weekend when we went on a trip and the pictures and videos i took were great. Last night, my daughter took a picture of me and when she took a picture of her brother, there was only white on the screen...like a moving white sheet with colored edges. I thought she destroyed it or something. I tried to use it but now the screen is all black...last night only the video worked but this morning everything is black. The other programs in the camera works so i suspect the problem must be in the lens. I'm in the Philippines and if I send it back to Canada for repairs it would just take a long time and it will be expensive to send it back. What can I do? I really love this camera... help!!!
If your old pictures look fine on the display, then the problem is related to the ccd sensor itself. The purple color is displayed because of a problem in the signal transmision from the ccd sensor to the camera's main processor. This is done using 3 channels one for each primary color (RGB red green blue). If the connector to the sensor is broken, or got out of place (loose) because some mechanic shock or symilar, the data processing woun't come out right. It is purple because your camera's processor mess up blue and red signals therefore resulting same purple instead of blue or red colours.
In order to fix this you will need to either send the camera to a service center to have those connections checked (if your camera is still in warranty you will want to do this) or ask me for further instructions if you wish to try to dissasemble the camera yourself.
In either way the problem is fixable and in most probabilities a cheap fix will work.
