Re: T-Mobile Wing Freezes & Restarts while texting
You can try to restart the phone. The only problem with that is that everything you have saved on ur phone gets deleted unless its on a memory card. What you have to do is turn off your phone then wait a couple of seconds then hold the power button along with the to line buttons by the green phone and the end call button. After you hold them down you wiil see a screen that will have some writing when that shows up you press the green phone button. After that it will restart but its going to take a while for it to restart. then when its done deleting everything its going to ask you to tap the screen the its going to ask you to do the align screen. you can skip the rest after you skip it the pocket pc page will come up and it will show you its installing everything when its done it will turn off and start up again. and there you go like new. if that doesnt help the you should go get it checked out..

Update your software go to www.t-mobile.com/wmupgrade scroll down the list and click wing i guarantee that it will stop. My wing ws doing the exact same thing but once i upgraded it doesnt anymore. Hope this help!!! Let me know!!!!!
Make sure you have the current version on your device. Log in to your T-Mobile account and go to Support then click on Phone & Device. You should be able to verify what your version is upon upgrading to the newest software. When I had my Wing, I did that and it helped tremendously with texting, freezing, resetting, and it also helped with security settings also. Also, be sure that you dont have alot of texts in the inbox, outbox, drafts, and sent folder that drastically decreases the device's physical memory and causes freezing also. Try to keep all pictures, files, videos, music, and 3rd party applications on your memory card. Windows Mobile devices are known for bugs and freezing and any little thing can set them off.
It took me a long *** time to fix my wing, but this is the only way i found. shout out to my homie muhammed for showing me:
hold both left and right toggle button simultaneously, and use stick to press the reset button. continue to hold buttons....
it will reformat. press send to wipe the phone.
then, use active sync to completely wipe the micro sd memory card once wipe is complete
this will delete the static charge virus
lastly, go to tmobile website and download the rom software upgrade.
reconnect the wing to your pc
charge the phone past 50%
click on the new software upgrade icon and follow instructions.
the screen will show 3 lines, green red and blue with the new upgrade version numbers.
once complete, you have completely upgraded the tmobile wing to the fullest extent
if this does not work, then sadly enough.... your problem is from
dropping your phone too many times and causing the components to become
loose connections. aka the sliding keyboard.
i also noticed that the only thing stopping the keyboard from stopping
is a tiny square piece of plastic. but then again, this phone was
crafted in china. chinese plastic isn't the most sturdy composite
If you have an SD card in your phone take it out and try turning it on. You can take it out when you see it going back to the white t-mobile screen. Once the device is on and to the home screen you can insert the card again.
Ok. So stumbled across this page because I was having the same problem, i.e. all of a sudden the wing was moving unbelievably slow and would lock up if I tried to text. I pulled out the battery, classic, and then I pulled out the sim card. Then I put the battery back in and started it with out the sim card. I unlocked the phone with my code, I couldn't do the second "unlock" because there was no sim card. However, I could play solitaire, look at memory; ya know, mess with the basics. Then I turned the phone off with the power button, pulled the battery out, put the sim card back in, turned the phone on and now everything is great! I have even texted with no problems! hope this works for you!!!
