Thank you for using Fixya. the issue you are experiencing is pretty much your free wheel. If it is new, it may have been installed the other way around or the clip in the assembly that serves as a spring for the chainwheel to lock out has been worn out.

Best if you will be able to remove the rear wheel and then check the whole rear hub assembly starting with the freewheel and the axle.

How to adjust front derallier on fuji 18 speed

You will need to raise the back wheel to perform these adjustments... so that you can activate the pedals and oberve closely the functioning, as you adjust....

On the tube mounting: The derailleur needs to just clear the teeth of the front chain wheels, as it moves from one to the other. It needs to be square with the chain wheels.

The other adjustments are limiting in nature. You need the derailleur to not move the chain off of the outside of either front chain wheel. as you get closer, move the rear derailleur to extremes and then shift the front derailleur, slow and fast..... Limit is correct when you can move the derailleur so as to not ride on the chain, but not throw the chain off the wheels.

Sometimes, guys turn the front derailleur, slightly so that the last portion of the derailleur body gives the chain a little boost to the bigger gear...This is just a very small amount. Sometimes it just works better that way.

My chain snapped and I fixed that. But exactly how is the chain threaded through the Shimano rear derailleur? What is the correct path over and under the 2 jockey wheels? I cannot find a diagram that shows...

It will entail taking the chain apart again (known as "breaking" the chain).
The chain feeds UNDER the lower cog on the derailleur, BETWEEN the 2 cogs, and OVER the top one... then BEHIND the gear cluster and back OVER it. Run the other end AROUND the front chainwheels, through the front derailleur and re-connect. You may find it helpful to lay the bike on its side (sprockets up) and have someone hold rear derailleur to keep tension off the chain.e86da85.jpg
Good luck to you.

While changing rear tire, my deraileur came off. The chain seems to be snarled up. I don't know how to ge the deraileur back on correctly. Thanks for your help.

With the wheel off remove the two pins which locate the guide wheels on the deraileur. Take off the guide wheels and the guide plate. Now straighten the chain and unwind the snarled area. Locate the chain around the smallest cog wheel on the back wheel and mount the wheel to the bike. The chain will hang slack. Now mount the upper guide wheel and guide plate to the deraileur making sure that the chain feeds off the rear cog and passes around the guide wheel towards the front of the bike. Push the deraileur forwards relative to the chain and slip the lower guide wheel in between the guide plates and pushing the chain back in the guides & fasten with the pin. As you reassemble the plates and wheels on the deraileur be sure to observe carefully which way the chain is running. It is quite logical and this should prevent mistakes being made

We have a jcb self propelled lawn mower but we have to push it, instead of it moving on its own, how can we fix it please

Something in the drive chain has worn out or broken. Possibly the drive cogs that actually turn the wheels as they are subject to a lot of build up of dirt and grit all bonded together with grass juice.
It might be the clutch but I would be inclined to look at the drive wheels first.

Tillers rotate put in gear wont move was moving just stopped is their a belt or chain in gear box or transmisson

Hi pat,

Yes, there are two chains in the tranny. If the wheels spin freely but don't engage, the smaller chain is broken.

If the wheels don't move, in gear or not, the smaller chain is broken and wrapped around the gears.

It's a bit of a chore to get to....

I insralled training wheels, but now the chain does not move, why?

I'd look for unwanted contact between the hardware attaching the training wheels rear wheel nuts and the chain, wheel, gear or tire.

I suspect a screw is a tad too long.
