Question about Casio G-Shock GW500A-1V Wrist Watch

1 Answer

What's the role of the first display (left upper corner) Casio-GW500A-1V? Simply couldn't figure out after reading the owner manual. Thanks

You are right, the manual tells you little to nothing of what it is, but it seems to change along with the minutes, perhaps emulating a sort of analog display. Each "pie slice" seems to represent 5 minutes. I'm still watching mine to verify this observation.

I really should have chosen to make the previous message a "solution" rather than a "clarification request. Regardless, a MUCH better manual than what comes with the unit can be found at

http://world.casio.com/wat/download/en/manual/

Here you can type in your 4 digit module number and get a great document that tells you how to operate your unit and some of how it works. (Adobe Acrobat - PDF file)

Unfortunately it doesn't explicitly answer your question, but its a much better manual.

I really do think each "pie slice" represents 5 minutes.

Enjoy!

Flashing charge

I couldn't find your model on thier web site but this range appears to have solar panels to charge the battery. Place your watch in bright sunlight or under a lamp (not a hot one) to charge the battery.

If this fails, consult your nearst dealer.

I have a g-511 and i need to set the hand set back one hour!

Which do you have a g-511 or a g-shock gw500A-1V which iswhat you are posted under?
The GW500A-1V is an auto set model that will set itself back to EST at 2:00AM
However, if you want to do it manually its pretty much the same procedure forboth watches
First press the mode button (the Lower left one) until the hour and AM/PMindicator are flashing
Then press the set/reset button (lower right) to cycle through til its one hourearlier than when you started
When the time is where you want it, press the mode button again.
Hope this helps, if not re-post with more details about specific model andfunction you are trying to access.

My watch has a tiny letter just to the right of the signal strength indicator. In my case it is a C because I live in the central time zone. Perhaps you live in the eastern time zone? The E may not be short for ERROR but instead stands for EASTERN. Its called the E/C/M/P indicator.

I don't know if you have had a chance yet, but the manual that I talked about previously does show this feature on the first page. Its called "Operation Guide 2608 2638 2688". Your watch almost certainly has a 2688 module.

I hope that was the E that you were talking about.

As for the signal sign, you want it to be there. You need to worry when its absent. :-) I think all waveceptors are like that.

I hope that helps.

Analogue display does not sync with digital

Go to the Casio web site. Download the manual for the watch. Go to the section called "To Adjust the Analog Time." The answer is there, step by step.
