Hi, i have a cuestion and i hope you can help me i cant receive faxes in my Lexmary x4270 is connected to PAP2 and configured codecs etc, and this PAP2 is connected at the same time to PBX asterisk,what...

Here are some guidelines on how to receive faxes behind a PBX system:
  • First, make sure your Lexmark X4270 printer can receive faxes when not connected to PAP2 and the PBX system.
  • Ensure that your printer/fax is connected to correct Phone port on your PAP2.
  • Advise the sender to dial your number so that there is a pause before dialing the extension number to your fax machine. They could insert commas between your fax number and the extension number. It inserts a delay of few seconds each. (e.g. 1234567890,,,,,,,,,,456)

Locking a linksys pap2

Hi rajahc,

If that is the later version on PAP2 with the reset button on it, I'm afraid there's no way to fully lock it out, but if that is the earlier version without the reset button, there is a way to fully lock the unit from both web and IVR access, however you would need the so called SPC tool, this small software will enable you to generate the generic configuration file for the PAP2 so could you modify it, re-compile and upload it back to the unit via a tftp server. Its not an easy feat not to mention that those SPC tools are only issued to a few selected Linksys partners. Hope this helps

Cheers and best regards,

P.S. pls rate me, tnx.
