It depends on whether you are using a keyboard wedge or a serial connection. Use 123Scan or MCL to make a change to the ADF file that tells the scanner what to do. Then you will have to upload the file to the scanner.

Appending an "Enter" to a scanned bar code
(Keyboard Wedge connection)
Scanned bar code data 04843100Criteria 1 Code type = Any
Criteria 2 Code Length = Any Length
Action 1 Send all that remains Action 2 Send Value Keycode = 7013 <Enter> (String field must be empty)
Output after ADF rule 04843100<Enter>
Note: To have an ADF rule applied to all scanned bar codes, leave the criteria unspecified (Code Type = Any and Code Length = Any Length).

Appending a "Carriage Return Line Feed" to a scanned bar code
(serial connection)
Scanned bar code data 04843100
Criteria 1 Code type = Any
Criteria 2 Code Length = Any Length
Action 1 Send all that remains
Action 2 Send Value String = \0D\0A

Note: Keycode value is ignored when string field is populated.

Output after ADF rule 04843100<Carriage Return Line Feed>

Cab't get computer/application to recognize the scanner

This is an older model handheld that utilizes either and RS-232 cable or Symbol Synapse cable to link to a PC. If the model you are using is cordless, then there should be a dock that is used to connect to your PC.

Most computer peripherals using RS-232 connections require a driver install to the PC in order to recognize the input from the device. Upon successful connection of the handheld or dock to the PC with driver installed, the unit should work as long as there is no physical malfunction to the unit.

The driver utility support the p470 models can be found here:

This unit is only supported by Windows 2000 or Windows XP environments.

Our MC9090 DPM scanners doesn't send the automatic ENTER after scanning a barcode. thx for advise

If you want to Automatically send scan to the host then you need to go the Configuration Manager. Go to Scanner, Common, and then you will see Auto Send Scan. Change to 'Yes'. Then upload the termconfig by going to Wavelink Prod. Config and click on Application & Config.

How do i turn off auto enter on my symbol ls3603mx scanner?

from manufacturers site take scan code sheet, you will just find there programming scan codes, one for start programming, another to terminate auto entry and third to terminate programming. that is correct procedure if scannig is automatically set in scanner, if scanning is in your database on other hand, you need to re-write that bit which insert your code to database/spreedsheet automatically and change it to manual, as i do not know which of these method you use, i cannot be more specific.

try scanner first! usually scanner is programmed on automatic.

Frozen. Yellow light on, Buttons appear to do nothing.

Holding down the Enter key on the keypad for 30 seconds forces the scanner to reset. It is called a forced power down.

Symbol P470 Enter key for field enter

Hi,

Go to this page and follow the instructions in item #2. It will force the scanner to insert and "Enter" after every code is scanned. We use this option with most point of sale terminals and some inventory control programs to speed things up.

You will need to have you manual handy or download a copy from symbol to set the programming and you will have to print the 2 pages reffered to as you can't scan a screen... yet

Auto Enter is False

Do you mean so that it will automatically input 'enter' after each scan

If so, this can be solved by ediitng the registry. You can do so as follows:

Download the enter file (this is a sendspace link, so it will not be up for very long).

Copy the file to the "Application" folder on the MC1000 and then do a cold boot and test.

I'm afraid I don't really understand how the reg has been editied in this file, otherwise I would post more detailed instructions rather than asking you to trust a file from an unknown person. But this fix was given to me by someone ore knowledgeable than me, and it has okay on my scanner!

Good luck!
