I just need to know how to link up my Allegro DVD/VCR REMOTE CONTROL to my Phllips Magnavox Television.

TUNING This DVD+VCR is equipped with a frequency synthe- sized tuner capable of receiving up to 181 channels. These include VHF channels 2-13, UHF channels 14-69 and CATV channels 1-125. Auto Channel Programming 1. Choose the SOURCE SELECT option, then use b / B to select TUNER. Use b / B to switch among TUNER, LINE1, and LINE2. 2. Make sure the TUNING BAND is set appropriately (TV or CATV). • TV : If you are using a standard antenna to receive channels. •CATV : If you are using basic cable to receive channels.

I've had a number of vcrs and vcr/dvd players over the years. But for some reason, I cannot set up this machine. I set up all of the cables exactly like I always have and the way that is instructed, but I...

These days the video input channel depends on the TV and any other equipment in the sequence. I've seen component video come in as Line, Channel 3/4 (with a switch on the video device), Aux1, Ex1, AV1, Channel 60 (I think that may be specific to satellite dish receivers). If the remote has an input button, try that (alternatively, look in the menu for source options). One thing to try: press the PSCAN button on the DVD remote (to toggle off the Progressive scan).

On some TVs the channel for the video is reached by going down from Channel 2 (this works when no channels are programmed into memory and the intervening channels are skipped).

What TV are you connecting to the DVD/VCR player? (If it is an older TV and any external device was connected to either channel 3 or 4, check that the TV works with any input device. I had a 19 year old TV (coax in only) that was damaged and no external device worked.)

I wish that I could be of more help.

No TV Guide On Screen and no clock adjustment

I have two Panasonic DMR-EH50s and one DMR-E85H. I also have a Sony DHG-HDD250 which also uses TVGOS, but it is a HD recorder (that means full DIGITAL capabilities, including the TVGOS ) My TVGOS went out in the middle of April. I messed around on the support sites for about two weeks and found little real info.

The bottom line: I live in Madison, WI & have Charter Cable. None of my DVRs were receiving the TVGOS. Charter was not processing and/or transmitting the TVGOS properly (doesn't really matter the DVRs couldn't receive them), so I called them up, got to their "Level 3 Technical Support" and explained to them that I could not receive the TVGOS digitally or analog (converted digital) on any of my DVRs. They called me back a week later and told me to try it again....

So, all you need to do (if your local Cable Company is sending it properly):

WARNING - All SCHEDULED programs that you have previously scheduled by using the TVGOS will be deleted (NOTE: not the programs that are already recorded on your hard drive, they will NOT be deleted)

Turn the unit off.

Press the up channel & down channel (on the box, not on your remote control) at the same time & hold them for at least 10 seconds. This will reset the entire TVGOS system back to the default settings that were present when you first plugged in your DVR. This erases all previous info that your DVR had about what station it used to get the signal from and forces it to scan all the channels looking for the new channel. This is the only way to force this to occur.

When you turn on the unit, it will run you through the setup like it did when you plugged it in for the first time. Enter your zip code, etc. and when you are done, turn it off & leave it off overnight.

If your TVGOS has the Station Grid but no listings, be patient, TVGO updates its own firmware on your DVR automatically, and that may be all that happens the first night. It should start updating the listings the following night.

If it found the station grid, this is a great sign!!!! This means that your cable company is working on it!!!! It took my local Cable Company about 7 or 8 days to get it working properly, but now my 3 Panasonics and my HD Sony are all receiving full listings!!!!

If you are still getting nothing, complain to your LOCAL Cable Company. It is up to them to ensure that the signal is converted to analog & sent out over cable.

I have a rca dvd recorder+vcr combo drc8320n i want to set up watching/changing cabletv channels on the dvd remote. i have tried buying universal remotes cheap& expensive but they no longer work on my

With cable input connected to "RF in"on rear of unit make sure vidoe input is set to "Tuner". This will show up on the TV screen. Change channels numerically or using up/down arrow keys on DVR remote. Note there is a slight pause between changing channels. You probably will have to "autoscan" for channel setup/etc. If you say your TV set is old; it probabaly is equiped with coax
connection only/set TV channel to "3" or "4". when yot opt to play vcr/dvd it will override your
cable channel selected. Hope this helps!

I cannot record using a DVD/VHS player.

You can record. From antenna to converter box, from converter box to vcr. From vcr to TV.
TV on Channnel 3 VCR on channel 3, and set channel on converter box. Then Record.

Time recording works the same way, but you can set for only one channel at a time. Tht is the only restriction that I have not overcome. The converter box sets the channel. Gee Whizz

Cable hookup and av hookup

Connect your TV to AV1 and you SAT/Cable Decoder to AV2.
on the video select the AV2 channel and it will record whatever is connected to AV2. The AV channel selected it is the input the one not selected is the output.
Some PPV Movie channels are copy protected with some service providers. But most channels are recordable.
The aerial lead coming in your house connects to the SAT/Cable Decoder 1st, then connect the output socket on that to the Video/DVD then the output on that to the TV. As long as the leads you use have different ends on you CANNOT plug them into the wrong socket. As the the aerial passes through each device, the device adds its own RF channel to the feed, so you should be able to tune both a SAT/Cable and a Video/DVD channel onto the TV set aside from using AV/Scart.
