Question about Bosch 23 in. SHU5302UC Built-in Dishwasher

Bosch SHU5316 When I run a cycle the machine counts down until it gets to about 9-15 minutes. Then it pops back to the 45-55 minute and continues to do this. I tried on all cycles. One the regular cycle it stayed on 1 minute forever and I had to manually drain and stop. It will never get into the rinse and heating cycle. The rinse and hold works fine. Any suggestions. I really like my dishwasher. It is just over 5 years old and is the best dishwasher I have ever had for cleaning and almost no noise. I hate to have to think of getting a different one as I like this one so much. Any suggestions. We tried running the test and it ran for about 15 minutes and continued running - never draining. It first showed a 2 and then went to 0 and kept running. We tried it again and it showed a 6, went to 0 and kept running. Thanks for any help.

Re: Bosch SHU5316

I would think it is the control board, which is located in the door panel.
Good Luck!
I had a Bosch over 20 years, never any problem.

Re: Bosch SHU5316

Sounds like the control module is out -- cost about $100 (I am on my third). I got a "lifetime" warranty when buying my second one. If you are handy, you can replace it yourself. You can call Bosch to confirm this (I did). It mounts inside the door.

Bosch dishwasher runs continuously

I would call Bosch with model and serial number, they have had a recall on your model for the control board and that sounds like it may be your problem, if it is under recall Bosch will send someone out at no charge to install a new board (800) 856-9226

My bosch dishwasher counts down to 1 minute on any cycle but will not drain except by manually hitting cancel. I've replaced a defective drain pump but it still does this- any ideas?

The pressure chamber or hose (pressure chamber to sump) may be blocked and the microswitch is being activated because the water is not entering the tank quick enough. Isolate from electric, remove lid and left panel (looking from the front). There is a plastic chamber bottom right of left side with two microswitches, either this is blocked or the hose that runs from it to the right and along the back of the kick panel and into the sump. Clear either or both (make sure all hoses are pushed true when repositioning).

Bosch she44c wash cycle time keeps extending. Once averaged about 130 minutes, now starts at about 150 minutes indicated. Seems to hang up at 1 or 2 minutes before cycle end, then keep running for as much...

We have had the same problem, except the water was not getting hot either. After a ton of research there was an issue that kept popping up. There was a massive recall on many of the model and serial #s. According to the recall there was a fire risk from the control board, the brains for the machine, that sits behind the digital display. For those not "at risk" but with the water not heating and the run time increasing, the problem can still be with the control board. I removed the control board and found a burned out connection with one of the controls. I soldered it and put the machine back together. The run time has returned to much closer (down to 128 from 184) than before the fix, but still is not back down to the original 108 minutes. I've priced a new control board--about $120.

This happened right after the warranty ran out. Imagine that.

Bosch SHU43C

My SHU43C is just over 3 years old. I had a similar problem recently. First, there were a few floods. Then, the Bosch only drained non-stop. Even when I used the Cancel Drain buttons the drain pump would run without stopping. When I tried to run one of the cleaning cycles, no water entered the machine. Corrective: I removed the base plate, and saw that the red plastic floatation device was in the up position. Using a flashlight and a wooden spoon, I lightly toggled the red float stem down. I pushed regular clean cycle and kept toggling with the red float stem until the rinse water started to enter the machine (turning the red stem seems to also actuate a step in the program). Now the dishwasher runs normally. Voila!

Bosch SHU5318: Water wont start washing

if it hums when you are in the wash phase then something is jamming the wash impeller like broken glass tooth pick found a necklace in one one time i think replacing the control board fixed the other problems on most washers the drain pump is separate from the wash motor haven't worked on bosch so not sure take off the lower spray arm and go down till you get to the impeller then do what you have to do clear it or replace wash motor

If your heat cycle is not coming on, which it sounds like it is not, then you may have a problem with the heating system. There is a well known issue with many of the Bosch dishwashers that use the (266746) control module. Basically, there is a relay (which is a kind of electro-mechanical switch) that is used to turn on the built-in heater. There is a solder joint on the main Printer Circuit Board (PCB) that allow electricity to flow to the heater, that joint often will melt away and burn the surrounding area of the PCB. This is most likely a design flaw and appears to occur at about the 4-5 year mark. One way you can test for this is to run the onboard diagnostics routine that is programmed into the firmware of the micro-controller (brain) of the dishwasher. The way to do so it to press and hold the (Scrub Wash & Delicate/Econo) buttons at he same time and then press the on/off power switch to the on position. The LED lights above both those buttons should begin to flash, when they do, press them both again and the diagnostics program will start. It is a multi-phase program that will run for quite a while. Once it finishes, if it is a heating problem, it will end with a number 2 code in the display. If this is so, then it very well maybe the solder-joint issue on the control module and it will need to be replaced. It runs $128.10 US directly from Good luck.
