when you download a ring tone using your mobile phone the network provider puts a lock on it to stop it from being transferred for free.
to get around this you will need to download a audio converter from http://www.nch.com.au/switch/plus.html
and convert the file to unlock it
this method does work as i have done this many times.
Hope this helps

then get ringtones from zedge.com download em to your computer and press the 3gp converter and press the movie tape button and then browse for the song then click it then press the big red button then it will make it into a video and because of that u can make it ur ringtone. now put the song on ur phone by microcard or cable and put it on then disconnect then go to my albums and the file will have a red x on it. click it then play and click options thenpress assign then set it as video ringer or voice calls!!!
The problem is the LG600g uses .mid and .amr format files, so anything in mp3 won't play on it. This really should be noted on the website (tracfone or net10's), but its not.
Here are some instructions for making real music ringtones (though the quality isn't great): http://pbush14.wordpress.com/2008/09/07/create-free-ringtones-for-your-lg-600g/ So for cropping songs I recommend following their instructions and you can use the converter listed there or use this one http://www.miksoft.net/mobileAMRconverter.htm for a conversion that sounds a little better.
WHat up? Ok to get the ringtones to your phone (which I have searched for two days to find a solution) do the following
1.) get your desired .mp3, or .mid ringtone file and have it on your pc.
2.) log into your email (yahoo, hotmail, etc), create an email and attach the .mp3 file. Make sure the .mp3 file in under 500k in size.
3.) in to TO: box enter the following ,<yourphonenumber>@mymetropcs.com and send it.
4.) check your message box when your phone chimes.
5.) press the Get button to download the file to your phone. If your file is over 500k it may not download.
6.)Now go to your inbox
7.) press the Browse button to stop the file from playing.
8.) make sure the file is selected, press the Up button (Top outter ring of the middle menu button)
9.) press the options button, select "use higlighted object" and save it to your phone.
10.) the file will now be in the MyTUnes folder and you can now set it as your main ringtone or a contact ring tone. (I'm typing this from memory so my menu selection names may be off a little but this shold get yall going. I was HYPE when I found this solution. I'm now searching on how to get the games on it.
