How to Create a Gmail Account Two Parts:Creating Your AccountUsing Gmail
Gmail has been increasing in popularity since it was first introduced in 2004. With the decline of Yahoo!, AOL, and Hotmail, more and more people are moving to Google's services. Creating a Gmail account is quick and easy, and also provides you access to other Google products such as YouTube, Google Drive, and Google Plus.

Fill out the rest of the required information. You will need to enter your first and last name, your birthday (for age verification), your gender, your phone number in case you lose access to your account, and a verification email address. You also need to enter which country you reside in.
    • The mobile phone number is recommended but not required. Google can send you a text in case you lose access to your Gmail account.
  • 670px-create-a-gmail-account-step-4-version-7.jpg4
Complete the CAPTCHA. This is a verification tool that ensures that a real person is creating the account. If you can't read it, click the refresh button next to the text field to get a new one, or click the speaker button to have it read out loud through your computer speakers.

If you prefer the window to be in the center of your screen, click the ? button in the upper-right corner of the New Message window.
    • Enter the recipient into the "To" field. You can add multiple recipients by separating the addresses with commas.
    • You can add a "Cc" line, which sends a copy to the recipients you list, as well as a "Bcc" line, which sends copies to the recipients you list but hides their names from the regular recipients.
    • Enter the subject of your email in the "Subject" field.
    • Type the body of the email into the large field underneath "Subject". Click the "A" button at the bottom of the window to show the text formatting options. These allow you to change size, font, color and more, just like a word processor.
    • Click the blue Send button to send the email to the recipients.
  • 670px-create-a-gmail-account-step-11-version-5.jpg4
Send an attachment. You can attach files up to 25 MB in size to your emails. Gmail supports sending any file type. You can either drag the file directly onto the email you are composing, or you can click the Paperclip button and browse for the file on your computer.
    • You can attach multiple files to one email, as long as the total size does not exceed 25 MB.
    • If you want to send a lot of files at once, such as a photo album, compress them all into one archive file to save space and make things easier for your recipient(s).
  • 670px-create-a-gmail-account-step-12-version-2.jpg5
Create filters and labels. Gmail contains powerful filtering and labeling options that let you sort all of your incoming emails into specific folders. You can even set filters to automatically forward certain emails, or block addresses altogether.
    • Click the Gear icon and then click Settings.
    • You can create new Labels by clicking the Labels tab in the Settings menu. Gmail has several labels created automatically, including System labels, Categories, and Google+ Circles. You can create your own labels by scrolling down and clicking the Create new label button.
    • You can hide labels that you don't want to see by clicking the "hide" link next to the label in the list.
    • Create filters by clicking the Filters tab at the top of the Settings menu. You can create a new filter by clicking the "Create new filter" link at the bottom of the list.
    • Filters are broken into two main sections: the search and the action. When you create a new filter, you first define the search which will pull any mail that meets the criteria. You can enter certain addresses, filter by subject line, include keywords, and more.
    • The action is what happens when a mail meets the search criteria. There are a variety of options, including archiving, applying a label, deleting, forwarding, and more.
    • See this guide for detailed information about creating Gmail filters.

Gmail problems small fonts to small

Reduce / Increase Text Size on My Gmail

Between the message list, search bar, labels and chat window, GMail's web interface displays a lot of information.

If your web browser is displaying all of these items in a large font, they may not fit comfortably on your screen.

Fortunately, you can easily change your web browser's text size on Gmail to ensure that all of the components fit.

Alternatively, you can use a special GMail Labs feature to change the default text size for all of the emails that you compose.

Navigate to your GMail inbox in your web browser.

Hold the "Ctrl" key on your keyboard and press the "-" key. Your web browser will shrink all of the text on the current web page.

You can repeat this step to shrink the text even more.

Hold "Ctrl" and press "+" to increase the text size if you shrink it too much.
    Gmail Default Font

Navigate to your GMail inbox and click the gear icon in the top right corner of the screen.
Select "Labs" from the drop-down menu.
Scroll down to "Default Text Styling" and click "Enable."
Scroll to the bottom of the page and click "Save Changes."
Click the gear icon in the top right corner of the screen and select "Mail Settings." Click the "TT" icon in the "Default Text Style" section. Select "Small."

Scroll to the bottom of the page and click "Save Changes." Your new email messages will automatically use GMail's small text size.

I can't access my gmail anymore and don't lnow why.

Do you have google chrome ?
You may be prevented from accessing your Gmail account in the Google Chrome browser for a number of reasons.

Although both programs are Google products, there may be a firewall, browser or software conflict causing the Gmail page not to load.

Going through a few basic troubleshooting steps can usually clear up the matter and get you back into your Gmail account.

Click the "Wrench" icon at the top-right corner of the browser window and select "Options" from the menu.

Go to the "Under the Hood" section.
Click the "Clear Browsing Data" button near the top of the options page.

    A popup window appears.
Check the boxes for "Empty the Cache" and "Delete Cookies and Other Site and Plug-in Data."

Change the "Obliterate the Following Items From" to "The Beginning of Time" option, then click the "Clear Browsing Data" button.

Clearing out the browser's stored files often helps to make websites load properly and perform better.

    Check your firewall settings.
Click the "Start" button and type "Firewall" into the search box.

Click "Windows Firewall." In the application, click the "Allow a Program or Feature Through Windows Firewall" from the left column.

Check the box for "Chrome.exe" from the program list.
When done, click the "OK" button.

You may have other firewall software installed, so check those settings if necessary to allow Google Chrome full access to the Internet.

Disable browser extensions. Periodically, an extension may cause a conflict in the browser and prevent you from loading Gmail properly or entirely.

Click the "Wrench" icon at the upper-right corner of the window, go to the "Tools" menu and select "Extensions."

Click the "Disable" link for any Gmail-specific extensions, such as "Better Gmail" or "Google Mail Checker."

If Gmail still doesn't load, temporarily disable all extensions one by one until it works.
Log into Gmail using a non-secure connection.

For example, if you normally use the secure connection or "https" prefix, then you want to type "http://mail.google.com/mail" for the website address.

If you already use the non-secure connection, try using the secure connection by typing "https://mail.google.com/mail" instead for the address.

Try a different browser other than Google Chrome to see if the problem lies with Gmail.

The Gmail servers may be experiencing difficulties for a wide number of users or just specifically your account. Sometimes troubleshooting the browser or firewall software will not correct the issue.

If the problem still persists on a different browser or computer system, then wait a while before attempting to access Gmail again.

The loading issue may be resolved by then.
