Hey mate, I found this:

"That's a tell tale sign of a Chinese knockoff. LOTS of experience with these, 99.9% of the 8GB MS Duos currently listed on eBay are fakes, I worked with eBay for a while to eradicate them, but they are worse than the demon ants around my locale - you think you've killed them and they come back and bring all their friends...

Sony actually has a warning posted about the 8G Duos, it's the largest single counterfeited item in their catalog. Even with their size, they can't put the scammers out of biz...

Here's the skinny... while you MAY be able to record data to the knockoffs, do a test and typically they only hold half the rated data (remarking smaller cap sticks is one variation of the scam I suspect). IF it does hold 4G, be aware you may or may not be able to recover video files. I've found both the first situation (8G only holds 4G of data, then errors out), and the latter, where I was able to write 8G of data, but then the cam could not read any of it (single long clip to fill the stick).

Long story short, go buy a 4G through an authorized reseller/retailer - they are only about $35 on sale, and you don't save enough on the knockoffs to make it worth the grief. 8GB I'd suggest you watch for Sandisk - somewhat cheaper, you must patch PMB to access, but the cameras seem to like them, no errors or problems. Beware that it's quite possible the Sandisk product will be knocked off as soon as the Chinese scammers smell money. I understand Sandisk has had a lot of knockoff problems in the past.

Oh yeah, to ease your mind, your cam is performing as designed, it's supposed to gag and choke when fed a fake stick..."

Take that as you read it I suppose, with a pinch of salt..
Have you tried using Sony PC software to view the memory card contents?

Try to analyze first whether the problem is with the memory stick or with the camera.try checking out the memory stick on another camera if possible.that should simplify it for a reason.awaiting your comments.good luck.

It is comaptible..In short, probably not if your Memory Stick has Magic Gate, but it depends. Here is a Memory Stick compatability chart for your camcorder:

How have you judged that it is not working? I mean did it show any error message or something? Have to set the device to use the memory stick instead of DVD?
Please rate me appropriately if you are satisfied with my answer,in case, if you want any clarification please get back to me.

I think Ziraffa may be right, go to any local authorized Sony retailer and ask them to check if the Stick is original, faulty or counterfeit, or call sony number listed on the stick booklet.

My Sony memory stick pro duo magic gate mark 2 is not shows images on pc but in my camera, but the photos are visible on Sony cybershot camera

Some Sony Cybershot camera's have a small amount of memory built into the camera. Double check that the camera is set to put the pictures onto the memory stick.
If the camera is set up correctly, the memory stick may not be formatted correctly for your computer. If at all possible, connect the camera to your computer directly with the USB cable that should have come with it.

Fitting memory stick in 2400 printer

Your Magic gate is half size. You need an adapter that you put your magic card into which will bring it up to the standard SD size for your printer. You can find these at place's like Best Buy. Bring your magic card with you & make sure it fits before you leave the store. Click this link & you'll get the idea of what you need.
