Question about Toshiba 32A3000 32A3000 32 16:9 Multi System Regza 1366 x 768 HD LCD TV
While trying to fix my screen splitting problem (i.e. the left side of my screen is divided 3 vertical line with different color levels), I tinkered with the service menu thinking the solution was there but unfortunately, it gave me a whole new problem. Worst of all, I failed to take down the original values.
There are essentially two things I wish for your help on:
1) Would your end be able to advise on default service menu settings for this TV model?
2) On the screen split problem, has that been seen before in this forum and is there a way to fix it? My 9 month old niece was playing with the remote control and it came out and we do not know how to bring it back.
Thanks a lot and looking forward for your reply!

SOURCE: Default service menu codes
They are all different, in every set. Why do peeps not remember to leave these settings alone! sorry but now you will need to have the set serviced.

There could be three different possibilities why you would get a line on your lcd display.
First, it could be a missing signal from the controller IC to LCD driver IC
Second it could be a defective LCD driver IC itself
Third it could be a dry contact in the tape carrier package ( TCP).
Attach an external monitor to your laptop and make it your primary display unit to see if you are still getting the lines if not its you TCP if you still get lines it will need to have either the LCD IC or the controller IC checked and possibly replaced.

troubleshooting PCB's of certain electronic units require advanced technical skills. no service manual of any source would provide specific solutions. the best you can get are schematic diagrams. if your field of expertise is not related to electronics, i suggest you let the technicians handle the problem for you. every shop have their repair cost qoutations. just be sure to ask for warranty of their repair. goodluck!

One of two things could be wrong.. One is the digital board and or connector. the second is that the LCD display is going bad..

prosit, If unit can be opened, I recommend you visually inspect the main power supply printed circuit board for "bad" electrolytic filter capacitors that may be faulty and failed prematurely! Lots of DIY videos at YOUTUBE that you should view before doing a "teardown" !!! Remember THIS!!! You MUST document your teardown with video or digital stills so before disconnecting any connectors to the board so you can put unit back together exactly as it was before you started any board repair work!! e.g. replacement of filter capacitors, fuses, resistors, and solder joint inspection of through-hole and or surface mounted active and passive components. DO YOUR WEB RESEARCH OF YOUTUBE VIDEOS FIRST!!!! Good luck guy. Keep us tech's informed of your progress by doing additional posts (comments) here on fixya. 12fixlouie
