I have a Maserati dashboard message that I don't know what it means.

The battery went dead today restarted the car with a charger. All seems fine, however a text message appears on the dashboard saying "limited cruising range" what does this mean?

Not sure what all these guys are talking about, but on my 2006 Maserati QP it means your out of gas. Comes after the first warning that says refueling recommended.

Maybe the battery is not dead after all.

The vehicle computer can sense low voltage, so is warning the driver the care is about to fail. Replace the battery with a new one and you should be good to go. The computer will reset once the power is cut off during the battery switch, and reboots during the new battery power up.;

If the battery is completely dead you should buy a new one. Batteries get damaged when they completely discharge. Just put in the new one and start. You might have the emission light go on after a start from a dead battery. Reset it yourself with an OBDII tool or your dealer can reset it. You can drive there at least on your own this way.

SOURCE: Got a message on dashboard "Stop Engine". What

More than 90% of the folks with this problem just need a simple throttle body cleaning to keep the RPM steady at 600 RPM. Some owners need to do the process every 30K miles. If you're up at 100K or more and it's never been cleaned, you'll find the backside of the throttle body is really dirty.

If the symptoms keep showing you may need to change your oil pressure sensor. Whey you buy the part you will see how easy it is.

Car won't start, battery good but no power on dashboard

It would be helpful to know the year, model and engine. Some cars have a fusible link which can create the problem you are describing, or it could be a dead cell in your battery. A battery has to be tested under load, just a voltmeter is not enough. have someone try to crank the engine while you read the voltage at the battery; if it drops below 9v, scrap it.

Battery is new, engine won't turn over.

The voltmeter should only go as high as 14-15 volts when the engine is running. I would check for a poor connection between the battery and starter.

Recharge battery Cadillac Deville 2005

You do not need to remove the battery to charge the battery. When you connect the charger you MUST be careful to connect the charger's positive lead to the positive terminal to the battery and the negative lead to the negative lead to the battery before you turn on the battery charger. Connecting the charger leads the wrong way around most likely damage the vehicle's electronics.
When you finish charging the battery turn off the charger before you disconnect the charger leads. This will prevent arcing between the leads and the battery.

My 92 volvo 240 has been sitting outside all summer. i have started it a few times and went to start it today. it won't do anything. what could be the problem and a solution?

"It won't do anything" means that there are no dash lights, no buzzers, nothing?
Any car has very slight electrical drains when it is shut off. For one thing, the clock is running, but there are a number of other tiny loads as well. With a good battery, you should be able to park a car for six months to a year and still start it.
However, if you start the car several times without running it long enough to recharge the battery, or if the drain is larger than it should be due to electrical problems or aftermarket accessories, you can get a failure to start.
Unfortunately, maintanence-free batteries don't tolerate being run completely dead very well, and many owners have unhappily found that draining an older battery once or twice was the last straw that ended their battery's life.
I suggest that you borrow a charger or a set of jumper cables to start the car, and drive it 30 minutes or so to fully charge the battery. If you have more problems, get the battery load tested at a shop that sells batteries to see if it is still OK.

Hello ... My 2004 Hyundai Elantra GLS is having major electrical issues. For the past few days, the radio has periodically "skipped" (i.e. shut off for a second and restarted), the interior...

Better check the battery as it sure sounds like its dead. The charging system could be at fault also A brand new battery can run down and need a charge if the charging system isnt doing its job Hope this helps you .Good luck!
