Take the battery out for at least 2 seconds, reinsert and restart. a lot of times, people forget to do this after a firmware upgrade.

The cleaner is either jammed or cluttered. Any canon dealer can clean it up for you quickly and inexpensively. Hope this helps!

Why is error 70 coming up on the camera

This might help:

  • Camera might work normally when the shutter release is half pressed for 2 or 3 seconds.
  • Switch on your camera in video mode and the go to your preferred setting.
Some have said go to the camera menu then the settings tab and locate sensor cleaning. Turn the automatic sensor cleaning to disable and when you want to clean the sensor do so manually.

I own a Sony Cybershot DSCW350 and when I put my sony memory card in, the camera on/off button, settings buttons, and shutter button stop working completely and the lcd portion is the only part that stays...

You might try to re clean the card with a smooth cloth that is used for cleaning DVD`s also clean the slot on your camera... sounds like you might have got something on the card or in the camera slot.. you can also trying cleaning them with a little rubbing alcohol.. not much.. let them dry.very good then re clean them with the smooth cloth.. if this doesn't work you might be able to get your pictures by tacking them to a photo shop and see if your card is bad.. This happens if the memory card is a small storage card.. I have had this happen to me.. Hope this helps you. T.

Have a canon rebel xs showing error 99 code Have tried cleaning contacts with eraser ... did not fix Tried sensor cleaning Formatted cf card a bunch of times Removing battery and reinserting helps...

Err99 is a catchall error code, and as the blog post you linked to states, it can be one of many problems.

Have you tried cleaning the contacts? Taking out BOTH batteries? (There's a button cell as well as the main battery.)

Finally, have you got the latest firmware version? The XS is currently at version 1.0.5, which was released in April of this year. You can download it here.

Also, could check this link: 50mm-lens-contact-points/

Hope helps.

I am using the camera for 2 monthes and now its says memory card error. i didnt changed the memory card SDHC what sould i do

Hi,

Welcome to Fixya. Getting a card error means that:

* memory card is not yet formatted for camera use
* memory card requires cleaning
* using a incompatible memory card
* camera malfunction

Here are some troubleshooting steps that you can do it by yourself. However if the error message still persist, you should contact your Canon service center.

Memory Card not formatted
You have to format the memory card. Some memory card can't be formatted using a PC's, or formatted by another digital camera. I suggest that you have to format the memory card using the camera itself.

Memory Card requires cleaning
Use a dry and soft cloth in cleaning the memory card and the memory acrd slot.
Using a clean pencil eraser can also be useful in cleaning the memory card but you have to be careful, slightly rub the eraser on the memory card.

Incompatible memory card
Please use a compatible memory card

Camera malfunction
In this case you have to contact you service center. It will be a big help if you can check if your camera is still under warranty to get a free service.

Please let me know if you have any questions and if this solution was helpful.

Card Error

Welcome to FixYa.

There were three reasons why do you always received an error "CARD ERROR"

First, possible that memory card is not yet formatted for use in the camera.
Second, memory card need requires cleaning. After cleaning it with soft and dry clothes and you still have the same error, go ahead and do the first step which is formatting the memory card.
I
f you still have the same error after doing those 2 option. You need to replace the memory card.

Also, CARD ERROR is possble of camera malfucntion. In this case you have to contact your sevice center.

I hope this information can help you on your issues.

When zooming, i get a ''lens error: 0x2119 error and the camera shuts down. how can i fix this?

If the camera has recently been dropped it may have lens damage that is shutting the camera down. If it hasn't been dropped, your problem may be due to weak/worn out batteries or corrosion on the battery contacts inside the camera which can prevent the full power of the batteries from flowing into the camera. Try this free fix before you do anything else: remove the batteries and wipe the camera contacts firmly with a dry cloth (heavy corrosion may require cleaning with a wire brush, steel wool, or sandpaper). Remove any residue that may have fallen into the battery compartment during cleaning, then wipe both ends of the batteries and place them back in the camera and charge them. This cleaning clears the problem about 90% of the time. If it doesn't work for you, your batteries may need to be replaced, or the camera may have a problem that requires professional repair.

If this response helps, please post a rating for me. A rating of "Very Helpful" would be appreciated . .

Fuji finepix s1000 zoom error lens is stuck out what can I do???

If you recently dropped the camera, you may have damaged the lens housing -- that will require professional repair. Otherwise, your problem may be as simple as low batteries or corrosion on the battery terminals inside the camera. Make sure that the batteries are fresh/fully charged. If the problem persists, remove the batteries and wipe the camera contacts firmly with a dry cloth (heavy corrosion may require cleaning with a wire brush, steel wool, or sandpaper). Remove any residue that may have fallen into the battery compartment during cleaning, then wipe both ends of the batteries and replace them in the camera. This cleaning works about 90% of the time, and I hope it clears up your problem.

Permanent error 06. 17-85 lens damaged when an

It most likely was a short in the repaired lens that caused the sensor to go bad over time.

I have been shooting with Canon cameras and lenses for many years and I do not always turn off power before switching lenses. It is not a big deal.

Brand new Canon 40D camera - Get Err 06

You need to return it to the place of purchase as a defective model and get them to exchange it for a new unit, or else send it in for warranty repair.
