I recieved a power cord replacement as per recall. did as instructions said. I did turn off master off/on switch on pc board. after i was finished I turned switch on/ closed cover and plugged in cord. the panel lit up and i pushed HEAT. cold air blew for abt 30 seconds and stopped and a clicking noise began. I unplugged cord and started looking for answers. can u advise? its less then a year old.
First off, you need to unplug power from the unit before handling anything on it, not just the master switch on the control board. There is still live power being fed to the unit while it is plugged in!
Now, the clicking sound you are hearing is a faulty relay on the control board. You have to replace the control board. The new ones are available from Amana/Goodman Mfg.. You will find, assuming you have more of these, your other units are going to start doing the same thing. It will be the same problem. When they send out the new control board, make sure you program the board. They no longer come pre programmed. It is actually a huge improvement on the older control board upgrades. Hope this helps, I have 140 of these in my hotel, I know them all too well. Let me know if you have any other questions and please rate this as a fix ya.

take the cord back off and go over the instructions again. If still does the not worken put the origonal cord back on and see if it still works with it. If this works maybe a ground problem look for a loose connection on the green wire. The unit may be 220 but the board may require a ground.. Take a VOM and check the power to L1 & L2 OR L1 & N. iF ITS 110 VOLTS YOU MAY HAVE REVERSE POLARITY AT THE WALL PLUG. If its 110v get back to me and I'll explain how to check polarity.
