Need door safety lock system for a sb-22201 microwave

If you typically open the door when the oven is running, you should check the tiny safety interlock switch.

Remove the cover and inspect the door locking system where you will find the micro switch. Test with a volt/ohm meter.

the door will come apart so you can screw it in from the inside its pretty easy just lay it out so you dont lose parts same with the clips they shoud either snap in when you have door apart or screw it in its just time consuming and terious work buy its do able

It seems that the safety door switch which is normally a two pronged LIMIT switch is fault or out of SYNC with the door lock circuit. Now unless the switch contacts and resets the main processor board the microwave output will not be activated - this is a safety feature to ensure that the microwave does not work with an open door and be harmful with the HF on human.
So please remove power, check the contacts on the door switch, replace the switch if contacts are open or realign the switch to contact.
Also check the linking cord to the main board from the switch, check the connection pins.

That truly sucks. Microwave door laches are quite complex. A double safety mechanism is in use and the door actually locks shut. Safety, safety. We wouldn't want you to microwave your head.
If you are going to be opening the case, unplug it and let it fully discharge. The voltages in a microwave are out of control. Keep all screws (use tape) and fully reassemble when you are done. Every part of the machine is needs assembled to keep the microwaves inside.
Smile. It could have happened to all of the locks on your house -- simultaneously. Now that would really **** :o).

Sounds like no power to the solenoide that holds the tray down. Check the wiring.

Check the user book for the unlock code. This could be the child lock mode.

If one of the safety switches are defective, or if there is a sensed power supply fault, the uPC will put the oven in the lock mode for safety reasons.

Check the door safety interlock system. Remove the cover - test the little switches near the door lock.

These switches fail because we all open the oven door while the oven is operating. Thbis causing arcing and failure. When they fail, the oven doesn't know the door is closed and will not turn on the heat.

By the nature of the oven main face plate and the locking latch being attached to the safety system the replacement cost is usually higher than a replacement microwave oven.

In your case replacing the microwave with another one is more sensible. Your oven is an obscure model as it is, I'd suggest a sharp brand.
