Well the codes are security codes. is this your router you are connecting to? if it is someone elses you will have to ask them to use their connection and get their code.

I have a dell inspiron 1100 and i dont know have to get my wireless adapter to work

You are probably trying to connect to a pass protected Network. Your wireless at your home, in other words, is not open like a wi-fi hotspot is. So you have to figure out what that pass word is. Hopefully someone in your family wrote it down somewhere. If not, you may have to call the service provider to get it.

On your screen, bottom/right, there is a "trey" with a bunch of really small icons in it. One those is the wireless network icon. You can probably click on that to access where you enter the pass word (or 'WEP' key). If not, go Start / Control Panel / Network Connections -- and take it from there because its a little different depending on which version of windows I think. I believe it will already be attempting to log you on, it just needs the pass key.

How do i get web code for my wireless internet

The wep code is the security code for your wireless network. this is setting of the router.
Is there any computer online using the router.
check the IP address on that computer.
If yes then you can open the router set up page on
that computer.
router set up page is the page where you can check
all the router settings.
Click Here for more information about the routers
and network

I have a persistent red light on the wireless adaptor, but the xbox is not recognising that it is plugged in. There is no option for the xbox to search for a network

Blinking green means initializing, steady green means it's found a wireless access point and connected.

Steady red means it's looking for a wireless network (wireless access point) which means you have to configure your SOHO router with an SSID that's broadcast so the wireless xbox NIC can find it.

I think you may have confused a comment I made - the xbox can be connected to your SOHO router by either a WIRE (ethernet cable) OR Wireless NIC (network interface card). If you're using one, disconnect the other!

If you have wireless enabled on your SOHO (small office home office) router then you should either use WEP or WPA for wireless security WPA-2 is recommended. This means you will have to know the key to attach to the wireless network. If someone else set it up then you will have to ask them for the key / passphrase.

Sounds like the NIC isn't the problem but the attaching to the wireless access point (WAP) is. Try www.xbox.com and search for some support regarding your situation. They have a good how to that details the installation / configuration step by step and it sounds like its one of those steps you're missing, unless I've misunderstood.

Good luck,

I have a xbox 360 wireless network adapter and every time i try to connect to a new internet conection it wont let me connect and when i do get it to connect im able to play for 5 min and then i get...

When you try to connect to a different wireless network, you should go into system settings, network settings, and then configure network. Once you see the basic setting, press the A button to setup the new connection. This should allow you to connect.

It is possible that you have a faulty wireless adapter. You could test your wireless adapter on a friend's xbox to see if the problem follows the adapter.

As far as your downloaded videos are concerned, if you reformat your hard drive, then yes all of your downloaded content will be gone.

After the reformat, you should be able to download the content you've already purchased, "as long as you're downloading it to the same console you were using when you first made the purchase."

If I were you, I would verify this with Microsoft before doing the reformat.

try using WEP encryption, especially if you use a G router, as thid is easier for the adapter to work with then WPA. also make sure that you have the ports open for xbox Live, i think its ports 88 and 3074

"wireless network not connected"???

Enter your IP address? If not go to http://whatismyip.com/ and enter that manually into your internet settings, on the last tab on the right of the dashboard. If the wireless adapter isn't reading the signal then you might have to reposition your router so it receives the signal.
