I'm using NW-S205F. it was working fine on XP. When i installed sonicstage 4.0 on my new laptop which has vista. it showed an error message. I tried initializing and formatting the player with the advanced menu option in the player but no success. Now i have upgraded to sonicstage 4.3 and it again showes error 000066d7 ( It says - The connection between the device and the computer is unstable. Disconnect and reconnect them. If you connect the device to a different USB port and the device is still not recognised, delete all tracks on the device by clicking "Controls", selecting "Device\Media", and then selecting "Delete All Tracks")
Tried doing it but the problem still remains.

Check whether its compatible with Vista. Also if you are trying to use a "cracked' software in Vista, it simply wont respond to any command or recognize the devices its supposed to because Vista does not allow any extra drivers to be added other than those preset in the OS driver database....sodeep
This one is not compatible with Vista - it might work sometimes, but not others - if Sony's website doesn't have an upgrade to make it Vista compatible (I don't believe they do, but you should check), I'm afraid this player has seen the end of it's days - because it sounds like you tried everything else that I would have suggested.
Arrghh, hehe that's the SonicStage software problem, I would suggest you to use Driver & MP3 File Manager Ver.2.0http://www.sonydigital-link.com/DNA/downloads/downloads.asp?l=en&ct=NWF&f=MP3FM20
It's much simpler and easyer tool to use. But if you still want to use SonicStage get a new version off the Sony site http://musicstore.connect.com/custom/promos/non_ie.html?checkBos=false
New version is 4.3, hope it resolves the problems. if not just in case here is my icq 24083314.
