In the music menu, there is an option to search by Artist or Album as long as you have at least one song on the player that has an ID3 tag that lists the song's artist or album. Those are the only way of organizing the songs on this particular player.

How do you creait a playlist

You must first Rip your albums or Mix CD's to your Xbox, insert an album and click on Rip CD to save it to your Hard Drive, play an album and click on edit or save playlist below the play/stop/forward/ buttons, and get rid of songs you don't want if needed. While playing that album still, back out with the red "b" button on your controller and back up until you are back at albums, now click on it, select another album, and choose "add to current playlist" or "add to playlist" and it will now stack that album on the bottom of the first. Again you can edit and delete or organize songs, then save playlist. Now you can name it and when you go to saved playlists instead of Albums, it will be there. When i use the crate feature, songs get deleted from the list after they are played. Why does this happen? Can I retrieve them?

The crate is designed to sort songs separately from the library to simplify your song selection through out the gig. If you pay attention you will notice the songs appear in the order you added them to the crate. This allows you to organize in advance what you want to play and when you play them or what order you want to play them in, but when you add a crated song to the A or B source it is removed from the crate. To retrieve them.. return to the library and resend them to the crate.

Hi i just got an mp3 modelm4282-r when i ripped songs from my computer to the device it placed them in various orders instead of by the album sequence in which they were ripped. the computer showed the...

You didn't do anything wrong - some mp3 players only organize tracks alphabetically.I don't know if that player lists a manufacturer other than Nokia, but it looks like you got a cheap custom-build or clone. All you can do is make sure that all of the information is correct in the ID3 tags, use Windows Media Player to transfer the songs/playlists to the player, and double-check the manual to see if they have Setting to change the order in which tracks are played.

A workaround would be to alpabetically change the names of the songs so that they play in the order you want, but on some mp3 players you cannot change that alphabetical order problem.

Alternative to disc2phone

I have a feeling the phone won't recognise M4a format, if it does though, you'll probably have to create a playlist and arrange the play order in iTunes. WMP info is recognised by most MP3 devices - it is a small file containing the details of the tracks' play order and such.

Sounds to me like you have a corrupt database. I had exactly the same problem and the only thing to do is format your player. This does seem to be common problem from what I have read on the internet. Go to Sandisk's site and download the firmware updater also.
