Cool fault! Here's what to do:

  • When it goes black press and hold the Select and Play button
  • Hopefully it comes up with a display saying 'Ok to disconnect'. What that actually means is 'Please connect me now', just a weird apple way of saying it.
  • From there you should be able to connect it to iTunes. Make sure you have the latest version of iTunes.
  • in iTunes on the iPod main page click the restore button.
If none of that works it needs looking at by a service engineer.

All the best

  1. To restore to the original state, open iTunes on your computer, and plug the cable into your computer, but not into your phone.
  2. Turn the phone off.
  3. Hold the home button on your phone and keep it pressed.
  4. Plug the cable into your phone
  5. Keep the home button pressed until iTunes shows an alert, you may now release the home button.
  6. Follow iTunes to restore your phone.

My ipod touch wont turn on, it shows the little pple symbol on the screen, then flashes white, blacks out, and the apple appears again. I've pressed all the buttons to try to get it to work, but it keeps...

try holding the menu button and the power button for about 20 secs. this will cause it reset, if this method doesn't work, then hold down the menu button, connect it to a PC then hold down the power button, if you have Itunes installed on your computer, it will alert you that it detects an Ipod in recovery mode, basically after that it'll attempt to fix your problem, and it will be able to turn on again.

Lost my code to apple ipod 8g

restore it w/ itunes. 1. Turn on your iPod (in my case it would only get as far as displaying the Apple logo
2. Hold the power and home buttons down (the iPod will power off after 10 seconds, but keep holding those buttons down)
3. After the iPod powers off, release the power button (but keep holding the home button down)
4. After a couple more seconds, you should hear that magical “ding dong” that means the iPod is coming back alive, and that Windows has detected it. You may even see a little “New hardware” popup in Windows. It is now safe to release the home button, and your iPod is in DFU mode.
5. Now iTunes will see it as a DFU’ed iPod and should ask you to automatically restore its firmware.
6. iTunes has to download the new firmware, and it takes a while, so go make a sandwich.

Dell Inspiron 600M laptop screen issue

The system may not be able to refresh after the defrag. Press ctrl-alt-del and try to turn the computer off from the task manager. If task manager wont popup. You can turn the computer off by holding the power button for 10 seconds or until it turns off.
To prevent file corruption which could be caused by the improper shutdown which you will have to do. Don't forget to tap F8 repeatedly when you restart the computer. Start tapping after you push the power button to turn it on. Choose 'last known good configuration' using the arrow keys on the keyboard. Press enter. And wait until the computer reboots. It should come back to normal.

If it still locks up. Run diagnostics and check if your hard drive is still ok. Turn the computer off. Tap F12 when you turn it back on. Choose diagnostics. If you get an error for 'DSt short test' call dell, so they can give you options for replacement. If all the tests passed, your software is corrupted. Post back what happens.
