I put a 2gb ddr2-667 memory chip in the single (only) memory slot in my gateway nx100x notebook pc. The pc will not boot up with the 2gb memory card. Is there a compatibility problem or do I have a ba

yes, there may be compatibility problem. your 2GB ram may be dead. try your 2gb ram on other notebooks. if it is working on other notebooks, then your ram is ok. your notebook will support maximum 2GB ddr2 memory per slot. your notebook may not be booting due to unsupported frequency of your ram. maximum supported frequency for your notebook may me 400Mhz, and you are putting a 667MHz ram into it. try to put a 400MHz 2GB ddr2 ram in your notebook.

Does ''FOXCONN 8657MF-series'' supports 400mhz fsb of RAM

Yes, you can add it. The faster 1 GB will be downclocked to the speed of the slower 256MB.
But it would be better for performance to remove the 256 MB one completely.

I downloaded antares autotune evo and it will not open.

thats because it is a plugin not a program. you need an audio recording tool such as SONY Acid, Fruity Loops, Sony Sound Forge or something similar. Antares is not a stand alone program, it requires another program to run, hence the name plug-in, because you "plug it in" to another program. Sony will allow you to download free trials of their software, but they have limited functionality.

Hi,

You have to ask for

DDR 2 - 333MHZ Ram,ie PC2-3200 -- this must be your default ram provided by your manufacturer..

You can also try

DDR 2 - 400MHZ Ram,ie PC2-6400 -- this is next version and it also supported

Tried to add RAM but now computer won't turn on

Didn't we speak online about this a couple of days ago? You can't mix and match RAM. What you added is probably not the right config for that machine. You need to go to this link, plug in your machine information and then REPLACE, NOT ADD TO what you have.

Does the motherboard support RAM Modules at 667MHz?

Yes you should be able to use 667MHz modules with your motherboard.

They will function at 400MHz.

Please be aware that some memory modules may be incompatible with some motherboards.
Although this happens rarely, only way to find out is to test.
Ask if you can return the modules if this happens.

Is there any problem in using a 1GB DDR with 400MHz speed in Intel D845GVSR board?

Since Intel says that this board will support DDR with 200/266/333 MHz speeds only. There should not be problem with your board more so that it works fine.

Check your manual and find the QVL list. Memory tested to work in your board is listed there. I found a link that shows your board. Click the Download on the left & check your manual.

You Max speed is 400Mhz memory as you will see at the link.
