Registering to a Network

Contact your carrier's Customer Service number. Sometimes, device IDs can change when devices are zeroed out, and if your carrier locks your account to a device ID, you may need to have the carrier reactivate your account and tie it to the new device ID.

I have a regular load on my SMART SIM card but it wont let me send a message. Why is that???

If we have the same problem try doing this. I guess you have receiving a red x-mark was it?
First, do a manual network search. Second, choose any network that is NOT your carrier Third, When it fails, select then your carrier Fourth, your BB should register the network afterwards

I successfully unlocked my Samsung Impression SGH-A877. I put in the new sim card for my new carrier (in Japan) but when I dial a number I get the "emergency calls only" message. Does anyone know...

This can indicate that your SIM isn't registered correctly, go to settings menu and network option, look for search network or add network option, if your carrier is found try to register (this is a manual network selection), if your carrier is not found, maybe your phone can't work at your Japan carrier bands (maybe is 1200 or 1700 MHz) and your phone only supports most commonly used GSM quad -bands ( 850/900/1800/1900 MHz ), please ask your carrier if supports the mentioned bands.

Sciphone fails to register with network, no bars, but sim card has contacts in phone?

First you need to make sure that your phone is actually working in the band that your wireless carrier uses. If your carrier uses a 850mhz. band and your phone is a triband without the 850mhz. band it will always says emergency and would never register. Borrow another Sim card that uses either 1800 or 1900mhz. band. If it register, then the phone is triband and your wireless carrier uses 850mhz. band. Another thing is to check the imei number, if they don't match, you need to fix'em. Compare the imei numbers (*#06#) with the one in the battery compartment.

Blackberry curve 8330's blocking mobile network

Sounds like you're in a dead zone. If not then ...

Check in the upper left corner... IF:

1x = you are not connected to any data at all - No emails, text, internet will work send/receive.

1xev= you're connected to data but not blackberry usually the same as above though sometimes you might get lucky and receive only text/pix messages.

1X= Phone calls only. Usually no data (email, text, web, etc)

1XEV = everything is connected and you should be working fine.

If you have 1XEV (upper case and lower case matter ALOT...everything should always be UPPERCASE) and you're still having that problem then go to:

options> advanced options> host routing table

In the host routing table click the button to the left of the roll ball (called the blackberry button) and click on "Register now" and just leave the phone alone for a minute so it can register all your service books again. Then try the web again.

If all else fails pullthe battery and try again ..> Still no good? Call your carrier.

Hope this helps
