I have a 60vg825 hitachi ultra vision that has a blank screen with lamp & temp lights blinking whats the cause

There must be a defect. The device is in a "protection" mode and warning it needs repair. Sometimes an engineer can read what could be the error, when he / she sees the flickering of the light (frequency and or rithm)
If it is still in warranty, call the firm where you bought it.

We have a 50inch ultra-vision, the picture seems to be dim and losing its color

If the set has not been serviced in several years and the picture slowly got darker and or duller looking you may just need to try something simple.

With the set unplugged and the back cover removed look for the three lens----I presume it is a older set called rear projection and not a DLP, the model number would tell me which it is.

If older you will find three large black lens near the middle, clean them free of dust etc with a lens cloth and check the picture again.

Let me know model number if you need further help

closed caption can also come from a cable or satellite box if you are using one--either it is from the set or the box----either can cause it.
