Well, it is illegal to provide a "download link" for a commercial link such as MS Office, so, I recommend that you purchase it from a legitimate vendor.

Coming to your laptop's problem, can you please be a little elaborate? Has your laptop stopped reading DVD/CDs?

I have a Acer aspire E1-572 laptop the problem is when I turn it on it just goes straight to a black screen that says Acer and it stays on that screen occasionally it says repairing automatically then goes...

This could point to a couple of things, your windows installation could be corrupt or your Hard Drive could be faulty. These two are the most likely scenarios. I would recommend running a test on your Hard Drive (I would recommend Seatools, download it on another PC and burn it on to a disk, then put it in your laptop and go into the BIOS and set it to boot from disk, and run an extended test - you do need some technical know how to do this) This will confirm whether you have a faulty Hard Drive or not, and if it is a Seagate Hard drive it will also try to fix faulty sectors so you may be able to boot up and save all your documents etc. If it does say there are faults, and it does fix them, consider replacing your Hard Drive soon, as it is usually the beginning of the end of the Hard Drive. You could also try repairing Windows if you have a windows disk. You could also try reformatting Windows (while its on the Acer screen hold down alt and repeatedly hit f10 on the keyboard). This will restore your Laptop to factory settings (after you follow the steps) and this will erase all data on your Laptop. If you do this and your Hard Drive is faulty, it may fail, or it may occur again.

Hard drive not detected on dell laptop

When this happens, i normaly try to read the Hard drive on another Computer. Be it external or internal Hard disk, if it doesnt read on a diffrent working computer, then the Hard drive has a problem. If its that bad you can one of my tricks, put the hard disk in a trasparent, water proofed plastic and put in a freezer for close to 10min. Remove it and connect as quickly as you can. You might get lucky. If all this fails. Then go to and download Error Rescue Disk Commander(ERD), burn it on disk and boot your computer with it, when you succeed, use the Explorer to make backup and use the Administrative Tools to Erase/Wipe the Hard drive. Restart the computer and restore the data

Laptop wont start up desktop asks for system disc

Your hard drive has become corrupted. If it's windows try putting in the operating system cd and doing a repair install. Alternatively you could go into the repair console and see if it's teh Master Boot Record simply needing to be repaired.

Here is an example of repair install step by step:

Of course I would read through the whole thing before attempting this. If you do not know how to do any of this I suggest taking it to a local repair shop.

I want to install windows xp-2 in my laptop presario cq42 notebook, i have a proble with hard drive for sata disable. in this laptop the bios not show the sata disable feature. so i want to disable this...

The problem is that XPinstallation CD does not have a SATA driver, unless you have a SATA drive on adisk etc. and can install the driver when XP asks for a hard drive driver then,XP cannot detect the hard disk and therefore won't install XP.The FIX.Go into the BIOS anddisable the SATA drive (enable IDE emulation), this will make XP think it is aIDE/PATA hard disk. Then you can install XP normally. When Windows hasbeen installed then install all the device drivers (including the SATA driver),then shut down and boot up and got into the BIOS and enable the SATA drive.

I dropped my Acer Aspire 5534 notebook on a hard surface. Now I get a Disk Read Error when I turn it on. It then says press F2 where it takes me to InsydeH20 Setup Utility. What do I do?

Although Hard Disk Drives have come a long way - they are still susceptible to shock (g-force) damage.
More than likely the hard disk is damaged beyond repair. There might be a slim possibility that your main board is cracked and cannot access your hardware properly.
Your F2 is just the BIOS (Basic Input Output System) - which initializes all the hardware and chipsets of your computer during startup - which we know is working enough to tell you it cannot see your hard disk (actually a good sign that the rest of the computer is fine)
In either case, You will need to try another hard drive to see if the BIOS sees it - and if so, you are in good shape. If not, then the entire laptop will need to be sent in for repairs.
Laptop hard drives run from $40 to $200. More than likely yours will run no more than $80.

Hitachi ext. drive formatted for a PC, but now I want to read it

you need to reformat the drive for MAC...

Use Disk Utility To completely erase a Macintosh hard drive that runs OS X 10.3.x or above—not just individual files on the drive—you can use the Disk Utility that is built into the Macintosh operating system.

How to Use Disk Utility to Erase a Macintosh Hard Drive (OS X 10.3.x or 10.4.x)
  1. You must reboot your computer using the OS X system CD that came with your Macintosh. To do so, follow these steps:
  • Insert the CD into the CD drive.
  • Hold down the C key during the startup process.
  1. Select your preferred language. You will then see the Welcome to the Mac OS X Installer window.
  2. From the Installer Menu Bar, click Open Disk Utility. You will then see the Disk Utility window.
  3. In the left pane of the Disk Utility window, click the drive you want to erase.
  4. In the right pane of the Disk Utility window, click the Erase tab.
  5. From the Volume Format drop-down menu, select Mac OS Extended (Journaled).
  6. In the Name field, highlight the existing text and type the name the hard drive is to be called after it's formatted.
  7. NOTE: If you ever plan to connect another computer running OS 9 to this hard drive, you'll want to install the Mac OS 9 disk driver, so that this disk will be visible from an OS 9-booted computer. If you don't know if you will do this in the future, it's best to install these drivers.
  8. The following are the available security options:
  • Don't Erase Data—This option only rewrites the headers on the disk. Files can be recovered by forensics, disk utilities, and other advanced recovery software.
  • Zero Out Data—There are forensics utilities that, albeit expensive and time consuming, can retrieve zeroed-out data.
  • 7-Pass Erase—This is considered sufficient by government standards to erase data from a disk. It writes random data over the disk seven times. It may take several hours or more to complete this process.
  • 35-Pass Erase—This makes it absolutely impossible to regain any data off the drive. This option takes an extremely long time, possibly more than one day.
  1. Click the radio button in front of 7-Pass Erase (recommended by UD).
  2. Click OK.
  3. Click Erase.
  4. Confirm you want to erase. The program will unmount the volume, partition the drive, and rename the volume to the name you typed in step #7 above.

Hard Drive

Most likely your hard drive has crashed. I repaired several laptops with that error and I had to replace a HD and reinstall operating system. Some laptop manufactures will provide a system recovery disk which will help you to reinstall your operating system. Otherwise you will need to install it from scratch. Most likely all your data is lost.

Hard drive problem

There is no problem on the hard disk.. It's either the memory or the motherboard is having a fault. Try cleaning the memory contact point with a pencil eraser and try again....
Check also the voltage of the battery cell on your motherboard it should read higher than 2.8V DC, replace it if below 2.8.

Hoping a Fixya result on my suggestion... Anyway, post me back if nothing happens, we will fix it...
