Well, it is illegal to provide a "download link" for a commercial link such as MS Office, so, I recommend that you purchase it from a legitimate vendor.

Coming to your laptop's problem, can you please be a little elaborate? Has your laptop stopped reading DVD/CDs?

If you are on a Mac, this is the easy way to erase it all and be able to put what you want on it after:When your External Hard Drive is connected,
Go to your Applicaiton folder and then Utilities.
Open "Disk utility".
on the right side, you should see your external drive. Click on it.
on the top right of the window, you open the "Erase" tab.
Set the format to Fat32 (to be able to tuse it on a Mac and on a PC)
If you want to change the name of the Disk, just change it or dont touch it.
WARNING: The next step will erase EVERYTHING on the disk. i understand that's what you want to do. Be sure you had selected the RIGHT Disk on the left side.
Click "Erase"
Wait a lil bit...
and. that's it. your Disk is formated and ready to use as new!

Hi jrawat7,

A Cyclic Redundancy Check, known as a CRC error, often occurs when you're attempting to transfer data to a hard drive. It's most commonly caused by an interruption in the recording process, but also can be a sign that you've got problems with your hard drive or optical drive.

Here are some steps fixed the issue:

Rule out problems with your computer Start by Defragmenting your disk. Click the Windows or Start button in the lower-left corner of your computer screen and select Control Panel. Click the System and Security icon. Choose Administrative Tools, then Defragment your hard drive. This will clear up clutter on your hard drive that could be causing the error

Use the CHKDSK program in Windows to see if there are other problems with your hard drive. Click the Windows or Start button and select My Computer or Computer. Right-click the drive with the CRC error. Choose Properties, then select the Tools tab. Click Check Now. Make sure the program will fix disk errors by checking the top square in the dialog box. Click Start.

Don't Forget to say Thanks. Thanks for using Fixya.

NTFS Read/Write Bootdisk And Bootable CDs
http://www.bootdisk.com/popfiles.htm
I bought this iso file from here. He charges $4 which is a bargain for this tool. Download the ISO on a working PC with a cd burner and create the boot disk. Boot the problem PC from the CD rom and run chkdsk from the black dos screen.
If this does not fix the problem then open the access door to the hard drive on the bottom of the laptop and find the make and model of the hard drive. Go to the hard drive manufactures web site and download a bootable ISO with the diagnostic utilities for the hard drive. This will tell you if it is fixable. Are you still under warranty? The laptop maker's web site may have a diagnostic tool you can download as well. This will give you a code which the manufacturer's help desk will need to authorize a replacement Hard drive. Other wise find a replacement drive from ebay or other suppler.

Cannot delete read only audio file from cd

You cannot delete a file from a CD-R or CD+R which is why it is a read only file. If you left the session open when you wrote to the disk you can add files to the CD. If you closed the session with your burning software it will fill the disk with blanks not allowing you to write any more files to the CD. You can Erase and Write to a CD-RW, but you will have to erase the entire disk and rewrite to it. You can copy the files to your hard drive and insert a new disk or erase the CD-RW and reburn the files excluding the one you do not want on the CD. Bottom line the CD has optical information physically burned on the CD unlike magnetic media it cannot be erased by rearranging the metal oxide making the file unreadable. Magnetic media works similar to an Etch-a-sketch where you can easily erase the image by shaking it. CD's and DVD's work like a canvas where you can paint easily, but you have to paint over the image or strip the paint to delete the image.

A disk read error occured press ctrl+alt+del to restart...how to fix it?

This is not a good error but there are two things you can try.
1. Physically remove the hard drive from your computer then reseat/reconnect it. This will ensure it is connected securely. 2. Physically remove the hard drive, attach it to another computer (either internally or with a USB adapter) and run a CHKDSK. Once completed, put the drive back in your computer and boot it up.
There is a slim chance this will fix your issue, but honestly you probably have a dead drive. I hope you backed up.

Hi there
Don't bother with service pack 3, it will only slow the pc down even more, what you need is a memory upgrade so the machine can perform well, also a better hard drive would be a good idea
