You can figure out real quick through isolution what the problem is and who to point the finger at. Go ahead and unplug your xbox 360 system and hook it up to another tv. It doesn't have to be hdmi, just a standard one can work fine so you can plug the yellow video, and two white/red audio cables in to test. If that works then you need to look at the ports on your tv or sound system as the source problem. Check the settings...it doesn't hurt to reset them and reconfigure. Also check the xbox system settings in the Dashboard and verify. That will get the ball rolling and get your solution asap. Good luck!!!
Is your DVD-ROM the original one that was in it when it was purchased? If not, then there's your problem. If you replace it with another ROM from a different 360, or with an after-market 360 ROM, then it will only play movies and not the games. It requires you to hack your 360 to get the new ROM to work properly, and that's alot of stuff to do. I think that according to the rules of this website I'm not allowed to post info about how to hack & crack things. If your DVD-ROM is the original one, then maybe your need to update your firmware and even run a cleaning disc in your 360 to get it to work right. If that doesn't work, then you have the option of replacing your ROM yourself and finding the hacks to make it work right, or you can pay Microsoft about $100 to fix it for you.
You got error code E44 now the arcades have problems with internal hard drive problems and will not play any movies with torrents witch all movies have torrents. Sorry if I didn't solve nothing, you can also try sending it in a let microsoft try the movies but I hope this gave you your answer you were looking for.
you cannot just replace the old dvd drive with a new one, you need to take the key from the old drive and then place it onto the new drive so it will work. all xbox 360 drives have a security key. If you still have your old drive then you may be ok and it may be that a technician can do the work for you. www.fixmyconsole.co.uk
After a lot of calls and finally a return to MS for RMA, MS checked and agreed to change the motherboard... it seems quite common issue (full HD seems to be a stretch for the console for games or for movies...). So the only way is to return it for repair....
