It won't extract m cd. it just says scanning for devices and nothing happens

For stuck CD do this:

Hit Ctrl,Alt and Delete all at the same time> Windows Task Manager should open> Click on the "Applications Tab"> Click End Task to close all Apps.> Now go to your Cd/Dvd player hit the eject button on the front.> Remove CD.

Now for your device problem try this:

To specify your preferred audio devices for playback or recording in Windows, do the following:

Windows 98, 98se, ME:
1. In Control Panel, double-click Multimedia or Sounds and Multimedia.
2. On the Audio tab, select the devices you want in the Preferred Device boxes.
3. Click the Use Preferred Devices Only check box to select it.
4. Click OK.

Windows 2000 and XP:
1. In Control Panel, double-click Sounds and Audio Devices.
2. On the Audio tab, select the devices you want in the Default Device boxes.
3. Click the Use only default devices check box to select it.
4. Click OK.

Windows Vista:
1. Go to Start > Control Panel
2. In Control Panel, select the option that says Hardware and Sound
3. Under the listing for Sound, select Manage Audio Devices
4. Under Recording and Sounds tabs, you will find all available devices. To set a default device, right click on one of them and select Set as Default Device.

Windows should now be configured to use these devices for both playback and recording.

This should fix your problem, if not use link to go to Sony support. Use the E-Mail option for a faster solution.

Techincal solution

Do you mean .omf and .mxf? On mac the souce files are quicktime. Audio, generally works with .aff the best but can use .wav also. Though that message seems to suggest it is an audio card problem. I'd check if you can record in other sofware programmes and maybe if you have an on board sound card as well as an external one (if using PC) turn the on-board on off in MSDos as it could be conflicting.

MY MIDI NOR SIGMA TEL HAS SOUND OUTPUT

Signma Tel is notoriously bad for recording. It often doesn't work. But try changing your driver mode and then running the wave profiler. restart everything and make sure that your sound card is chosen under playback timing master and recordi timing master so that it is the chosen card. UNLESS- the keyboard has it's own sound card or interface built in, then its a different thing. You'll have to find out what kind of drivers THAT card uses and do same thing choosing that as card with correct drivers. Also check MIDI devices and make sure its in there. U might wanna email tech cuz this is a little more complicated than a regular set up

Recording do not sync up

1rst- Maybe you choose the incorrect metronome. On analog audio record use your default audio card metronome and on MIDI audio record, use MIDI metronome!
2nd- Check your memory video card & remember your computer speed is as fast as the lowest speed component on it.
Pardon my poor English!!!!

Good luck!!!

I am not a seasoned pro with Audition, but I have a basic working knowledge of it and do a good bit of recording at home. I recently purchased a Yamaha mixing console (MG166CX-USB) and I am unsure how to...

If you're wanting to use the Yamaha ASIO driver direct via USB, first make sure you have the driver installed.  Second, you have to enable the ASIO driver in the audio devices setup portion - or you can just go to your Windows Audio settings, and change the recording hardware to the Yamaha one.
Then you'll be able to record to 1 Stereo or 2 Mono channels off of the Yamaha ASIO driver.
It's more tricky doing it that way than just feeding the line-outs into your onboard or PCI/PCI-eX sound cards.
Poast back if you have more questions.  I'm at work now, but I can look at the specifics when I get home if you need further assistance.
If you need further help, be sure to post this info: 1. What version of Audition 2. What version of Windows 3. What type of soundcard do you have (if you want to do anything through that route).

Acid pro and vista (inspiron 1720)

Sony says the operating systems listed on the box -- the ones out at the time you bought the software -- are the only ones supported:

-That- said, some people apparently have gotten Acid 6 working.

You have Acid 5. It won't hurt to check and update some other things, whether you're able to run Acid or not. (And if your computer is strong enough, you may be able to run XP in a virtual machine, but that's a whole 'nother story.)

First, click your volume control -- likely in the bottom-right corner, or through Start: Control panels, and ensure your "line in" level is set high and the mute is not off. Yeah, you probably did this. Please quadruple check.

Try Start: Control Panels: System: Device Manager. See if you have any little warning signs or Xs next to any of your devices.

You can also look in the audio device section and see what your sound card is. (A Dell made one day may have completely different guts than a Dell of the same model made a few weeks earlier.) You can take that information and download a new driver from the company, which will have more updated drivers than Dell.

Last, make sure you've installed the latest updates to Acid 5. It won't hurt, and might make a difference. Doubt it, but it might. And if you go the virtual machine route, you may benefit there from the marginal improvements:

Cubase REcording/Playback Problems

check first the sample rate maybe its to high like instead of 44k. its in 48 96 or something like that so the buffering isnt catching with the recoding . alogn with your lattency configuration must devices are ok in 512 latency.
and also be shure not to be recording directly to tyour external hard drive
in case of plugin overload issue it would not stop recording suddenly it would slow down first with some crackles and then stop or must shure freeze.
so impretty shure its somethin else.
hope it works

good luck
