Go to your computer and type in 192.168.1.1 it should take you to your router's main menu. Then search for something like Wireless Conection or Wireless Config, it should then tell you your roouter's name and password.

A solution that you should try which will most likely help because this happened to my sisters itouch and it connected to the internet
1. Go to settings
2. Tap on Wifi
3. Go to the option that lets you manually put in the name of the connection, the connection type, and the password to the connection.
So again, type in the exact name of the wireless connection,
Pick the connection type (WEP, WPA, ect.)
then put in the password.
It should help(I almost know that it will help).
Click on the "Settings" app. You'll see a "Wi-Fi" setting at the top, make sure it's turned on.
You'll need to be near a WiFi network. If you don't have one in your home, you'll need to get a router with WiFi. If you just want to test your iPod Touch with WiFi, go to some heavily populated area, it's likely that someone will have a WiFi network that doesn't require a password. Apartment complex parking lots are good places to try this.
Hey, i had the same problem. I you already have a wifi connection and it still says, "Safari is not connected to internet" Goto settings. Click the blue arrow next to the wifi name, scroll all the way down and click renew lease. It should probably get the IP address right and you'll be good.
try this! If your iTouch says you are connected to your network but you can't surf and you've been able to connect in the past...you have to reset your network connections on your iTouch.
Go to Settings Go to General Go down to Reset Go to Reset Network Settings It will ask for your iTouch Passcode...enter it Then, hit the red "Reset Network Settings" After that, go back to "Wi-Fi" in Settings... ...and connect to your network again. It might ask you for your WEP password, if it does, enter it. The IP Address, Subnet Mask, Router and DNS fields should now have entries in them. Surf Away!!
I finally discovered the problem. I have a Linksys wireless
router, so when I tried to log on with my iTouch, I got the
message "Unable to join network "my network name" when
I typed in my password. One day, after many trys, I tried
typing in the network security key for my router, and Voila,
it worked. For some unknown reason (to me), the iTouch
recognizes the the network security key as the password.
