Question about Yamaha HTR-5890 Receiver

Open Question

Yamaha HRT 5890

I have contunuity between the input and output on the high side. The 10a fuse was open i replaced with the same result click but nothing else. Can I buy a new transformer? Where can I find one. I have klipsh F3 synergy towers with a 12" klipsh sub. I was running the reciever @ full throttle. I wonder if the cooling fan was working because she always runs hot and I never hear the fan?

Hi everyone:

You may reset your unit, to do so here is the procedure.
1. Depress the MASTER little Button so it has to be in the OFF position
2. press simuntaneously the A/B/C/D/E and TUNNING/CH > buttons and the press MASTER again
3. Keep the two buttons pressed until the SLEEP blinks on th display, at this point you will see a message that last for maybe 3 seconds,
4. after the message you will see the number 1 and a series of numbers on the first row and the word MARGIN on the second row.
5. Turn the PROGRAM knob until you reach tothe number 11 FAC PRESET on the first row and PRESET INH on the second row
6. press the TUNNING/CH > button once, and the message on the second row will display PRESET RSRV
7. Press the MASTER again and your unit will have the factory settings.

SOURCE: Yamaha RX-V420 No power

If the standby voltage exists, the next step is to see whether or not the clock is working. Find the main micro chip. There should be a 3 legged crystal close by. You should see this oscillate (use a scope). No oscillation = no micro control = no turn on. It is possible that the micro is bad or the crysal is bad. Also, check to be sure that the output transistors are not shorted. It is also possible that these are preventing the system from turning on.

SOURCE: Yamaha RX-V757 No Left Channel Output - Video Sources Only

First - make sure it is not a defective cable by reversing the leads/colors on the inputs if problem then goes to the right channel then you know it is a bad cable/RCA, etc., connector. I would try that first.

Thanks,

How do I fix my yamaha receiver? I turned it up and it shut off, tried to turn on heard fuse blow. Replace one of the two fuses 10A 125v that one blew also.

Fuses blow due to an overload. What has happened in you case is one or more of the output devices (found on the big heat sink) has shorted and acting like it was a piece of wire. Now you have to find out which. By the way it might have gone due to bad speaker wires or speakers, or speaker wires touching each other.

Car only blows heat on passenger side, Drivers side still cold even after replacing the actuator. What else could it be?

If the blower motor is running, that means the 30A HVAC BLOWER fuse is OK. The HVAC control module obtains power through the 10A DIC/RKE fuse in the right instrument panel junction block and the 10A A/C CRUISE fuse in the left instrument panel junction block. Output from the HVAC control module controls the mode actuator and the recirculation actuator. You replaced one of the two. The other one may be defective or the replacement one may be defective. Also, the HVAC control module may be defective and not producing door control output

I have a yamaha htr 5890. I would like to hook up

You are probably connected to the pre-out jacks. These are not amplified. Connect them to the B speaker outputs(screw down connectors). If that won't work (and it should), you can connect to the "Presence" speaker connections(spring loaded connections).

No power

no power, 1st you need a tester tester (range 1000vac) first the convinience outlet if there a voltage 2nd test the power cord if there a continuity(range your tester into resistance x10) put it in to the tip to tip of the C.O power cord of your turntable(the reading will have contunuity) if still no power check the fuse inside the turntable" remove the platter and the plastic be carefull trace where the power cord connect inside the circuit(maybe the fuse blown) if the fuse is still ok 4th check the contunuity of the transformer the input and output line(in tester there will have a reading supposed to be) after all if theres still aproblem just email me..hope i can help that way..
