GE Dryer DDE5300BALAD will not start

I put wet clothes in the dryer and it will not start. No sound of any kind coming from dryer. I have checked the breaker, everything looks O.K. I have unplugged the dryer and plugged it back in. Does this dryer have a reset button on it? I can't fine one. Any other suggesstions?

Have you tried playing with the door.Raise it up slightly etc. Their is a switch that the door activates that does not allow the drier to run w/o the door being closed.

Water under and around dryer. Clothes dry but water on floor. The wash not leaking. I the vent and line are not clogged. What is causing the water under dry?

Unless the clothes are dripping, soaking, wet when they're put in the dryer (and it would take them a loooong time to dry if that were the case) there's bound to be a leak of some kind coming from somewhere other than the dryer. Do you have a lavatory or toilet on the other side of the wall behind the dryer? They dryer has no water of its own to leak.

It really sounds like your washing machine is not spinning the clothes out enough. Have they been wetter than usual lately? The dryer could just be struggling to keep up with the heavier / wetter load as there is no reason for it to create moisture on it's own.

I have A ge DBXR463ED2WW .it takes about 80 minutes to dry A load.dryer seems to only have A fourth to half heat.

This could be the clothes are coming out of the washer wetter than normal, or poor air flow. 80 min in a little long but a lot depends on the wetness and amount of clothes. If the vent system is clear then I would try smaller loads and checking the washer.

Water in the dryer

You did not explain if the dryer is getting hot or not, if there is water inside the drum then it sounds like the heating element is not working and maybe the clothes are too wet when being put in the dryer

I have a ge profile dryer model dpsb513eboww and the sensor dry doesn't work properly. It runs 3 minutes then shuts off. The clothes are still wet. All else works fine.

You should inside the driver and on the front or back wall will be the sensor: two metal bars that send an electric current through the clothing. When the dryer detects more current goes through, it knows the clothes are still wet and keep running. If the sensor bars are broken, disconnected, or dirty, it will read no current and think you put clothes in there that were already dry. Make sure those contacts are nice and clean. Failing that, you'll need to test the sensor circuit for voltage to see what the problem is.

Dryer puts out heat, but clothes are still wet

There may be a clog underneath the lint trap or the exhaust vent may be clogged, if either fails try changing temperature knob to a different setting.

it sounds like an airflow problem. check everywhere the air flows. inside the lint catch. the vent behind the dryer may be clogged or kinked. the exhaust line in the floor or wall of the house might be clogged. 689b12c.jpg
