Panasonic CQ-DF401U When turning down stereo, I went to turn back up and I had no control over anything except the power. Both on the remote and unit itself. It accepts CD's and ejects but no other buttons do anything

I have a Panasonic CQ-RX400U and I need to hook it up to a 1992 Ford Taurus and I need cables to hook it up and the thing that holds it in place in the dash.

I would get an stereo installation kit from Auto Zone or a local automotive audio store. It will come with the surround for the new stereo to fit where the old stereo went, and a wiring harness to hook the new stereo up to and plug into the existing car wiring.

Can I connect an mp3 player to this stereo deck through the CD CHANGER IN port?

no not really. the cheapest and most easy way of doing it is to buy an fm trnsmitter most electronic shops sell them they work by sending the music into a pre tuned fm channel on the deck its a bit like a wire less input

are you running the rest of your speakers off an amp? if so, it sounds like you have the amp remote wire connected to the power antenna wire. on some radios there is an amp remote wire and a power antenna wire. the power antenna wire loses power when not listening to the tuner (radio). usuall there is a solid blue and a blue with white stripe. the blue with a white stripe should be amp turn on.

Whining noise @ acceleration?

You have a bad ground somewhere. You also may nneed to replace your spark plug wires. The deck is getting interference from the engine due to a grounding problem.

Best of luck

you have to turn the unit on with the remote so the display is on the code entry screen, then press and hold the toggle button on the bottom right side of the screen for 10-15 seconds, basically hold it till the unit turns back on.....

In dash panasonic cq-vd7001u

you need the remote to power up the unit to get it to the code screen, then its just a matter of holding the toggle button down for 10-15 seconds, then unit will come back to life... this does work, i just paid a guy $40 to fix mine.....
