SOURCE: have a gateway one. CD stuck and won't eject.

Hello,

wow,
what made it stuck?

Is some control light blinking? By this you will check if there is power in it.

All "reliable" trays should have little hole to poke with some wire. It's emergency button which doesn't require power to throw tray out.

Last option: Shame to damage such beautiful tray, try to pull it out with knife. From photos which I saw there must be a bit space to do it.

Cheers,
Mike

How do I remove the back of my Gateway ZX6971-UR30P. I have a cd stuck in the disc drive and the door won't open.

Have you tried to use a straightened out paper clip to eject the disc. You should see a small hole next to the eject button on the disc drive, just push the paper clip in that and the drive door should open.

Help LITE-ON DVDRWSHW-1635S door wont open on Gateway computer

There are two ways toopen the CD drive door if the button just below the drive tray does not work.
Go to My Computer and right click on the drive and click on Eject.
If this does not work then you can manually open the CD drive tray by -
Straighten a paper clip and gently insert it into a tiny hole below the drivetray next to the Eject button. Push the paper clip gently until the drive traypops out, then pull the tray until it is fully out, then you can remove the CDdisc.
If you continue having problem opening with the Eject button, then the CD driveis faulty and needs replacing.

I can not eject a cd from my computer. What should I do?

1. Try clicking the button on the cd drive drawer door with your finger and see if it opens. If not try step 2.
2. Click Start/My Computer then Right Click on your CD Drive and select the Eject option. If both steps 1 and 2 fail proceed to step 3.
3. Get a paper clip and straighten it out as much as possible. Now get on your knees in front of your CD Drive and look for a tiny hole that will allow you to insert and push the drawer open with the paper clip. That little hole is there solely for that purpose.

How do i get a stuck cd out of my dell laptop

There should be a tiny hole next to the eject button:
  • Straighten out a paper clip and push it into the little hole until you feel it "make contact"
  • Then, give it some "encouragement" (push it in farther) -- once you've pushed the paper clip in far enough, the CD drive should then manually eject itself
Hope that helps!

How do i eject a stuck cd from gateway one 710 series I have tried the eject button on the keyboard but will not give it up...

Have you tried the eject button from the tray? If all that you need is a tool to eject the tray without touching the tower, I suggest you to go to this link and download the Eject-CD freeware runtime file EjectCD.exe - approx 30kB. Alternative if your tray is locked and can not open with the above methods, you have to locate a small hole in the front panel of the tray and put into that hole something like a connector (for papers) or a strong wire in order to push the internal system to open.

In case of a problem or clarification, don't hesitate to post.

A disk that the cable rep put into the system to log into the internet will not eject.

On the CD drive's front panel, if you look closely, you will see a very small hole big enough for a pin to go through. This is the force eject. Take a paper clip and bend it so that it will be long enough to go through the hole. Push the paper clip's end into the force eject hole and the cd tray should pop out. Hope that helps.

I got a cd stuck in the cd/dvd drive for my gateway laptop- i dont know the model. tried to hit eject button and ejecting through computor and it will not open. what do i do?

All CDs & DVDs have a tiny hole on the drive tray.
Get a paper clip, straighten the paper clip and insert it into this hole and push the paper clip in gently, the tray will release and pop out, then you can remove your disc.
You can do this without the laptop being powered up or powered down.

My cd rom is stuck, when i click eject button it won't open.

There should be a small hole in the front, use a paper clip and push into the hole to eject tray mannualy. The cause of the tray not ejecting is that the belt from the motor that ejects the tray is worn, need to change it.cheers.
