Same here. In fact I have WinXP SP2 windows media player 10 and I still can't sync through windows media like they say. I cannot install the software that comes with because it fails at the end for no reason. I cannot play anything except the JPG images I did transfer manually. What a piece of work this device is.

From what I have gathered in my readings today. You cannot sync video with WMP 10 because the device needs to be in MSC mode, and treated more like a flash drive, the mode that it is in when Windows Media Player recognizes it, uses a different transfer system that is meant to deal with the DMA's. Anyway when you get the software that comes with it, off of the virtual CD drive, and installed. Or you can also download the software from their webpage. The Media manager application, already has a small file tree or folders for the different types of media. Music, Photo,Video. So when you switch modes and it switches folders. The Video folder has no AVI files saved in the codec that it wants to see. If your vids are .avi, I think you would then have to run them through the converter that makes the .avi's compatable the the player in the device. But I think there is an application that once you have converted them it will play them to verify that the device cann see and play them. The biggest problem that I have found so far is that the documentation that comes with the device is Very general at best, and not meant to be and actual guide of how to set up and use this device. My guess is they had someone who was going to write an owners manual, with specific instructions and trouble shooting. Which in many cases is a small book. They however seem to have edited it down to fit on one sheet of paper, to save trees and shipping I guess, So instead of instructions it is more like hints and clues. On the company website the link to the PDA userguide is dead. But there is a FAQ section next to the downloads that addresses and explains alot more of the issues. I goes into detail on how to load and play videos. It refers to the format the AVI's must be in to work, and it is not .avi which is the format many videos are in. I stopped playing with it after I got it loaded with some music so my kid could play with it. But I did notice that when you start the media manager it comes with, and then connect the device, they will sync up for about 15s. until Windows Media Player regognizes it and connects with the device. Then the media Manager closes and locks up until you disconnect the device and close WMP. Then It will let you launch the program again, and it connects and you can see the folders, so you know where the photos and videos go, just for it to close as soon as Windows Media opens again and reconnects. But I'm sure it is something simple like a setting somewhere, not mentioned in the documentation.

Check the specification of your MP3 player to determine the type of video file format it uses. Most common video files that MP3 players use are, AVI and WMV, there may be others such as FLV, MOV and DivX. If your player cannot play a video then it is an incompatible video file format, then you need to convert that video file to a format that your MP3 player uses. After video conversion then copy the video files to your MP3 player using the USB cable from your computer. When you connect the MP3 player to yourcomputer with the supplied USB cable then computer detects the player as anexternal storage device or a Removable disk, you can then view the folder onyour MP3 player. Open the music folder and create a new folder on the playerexactly the same way you create a folder on your computer's hard drive. Toorganise your music, make a folder name with the name of the music album andplace the album's MP3 files in this folder, then copy the mp3 files from thecomputer into this folder.
You will then be able to select the music you want to play by the music albumfolder. To delete a filefrom your MP3 player, connect the supplied USB cable to your player and thenplug it into the USB port of your computer.
The computer will detect your player then click on this device to view thefiles, you can then click on the music file to highlight the file and thenpress the Del key to delete the file off your MP3 player. I have a coby mp3 player, model MP605-2G and cant figure our how to get pictures and videos on it. Had no problems getting music on it.

If the device shows up in my computer as "removable disk F:\" or similar you should be able to drag-and-drop any files you want to it. If this device plays video and pictures as well as music, you will most likely have to use the included software (which will probably transcode video to a compatible format).

Can not remove files from sansa

Windows Media Player is a little temperamental when it comes to music on the device.

You can manually manage the music from My Computer>Device Name (m250)>MUSIC Folder.

You can drag & drop files onto the device from here, as well as, right click and delete them.

    Best of Luck.
