Question about Akai Dc7370 Digital Camera
Keep trying different batteries until it started working.

Duracell AA batteries work just fine. I have one.
Most digital cameras experience something similar when then battery door closure is slightly off in some way. Make sure you have fresh batteries and take care when closing the battery compartment door.
There is usually a distinct, two step procedure for closing most of these doors. Not completing step one before moving to step two could damage the compartment door which is also part of the electrical system which must have firm and continuous contact with the batteries.
I have found that correcting this situation solves 75% to 80% of the problems with most electronic gadgetry.

I had the same problem with the same camera, you need to get the ni-mh rechargeable batteries, i just got the kodak 1 hour charger with 4 AA batteries, and it works just fine now
