Question about RCA G32695LV 32" TV

1 Answer

RCA G32695LV TV won't turn on.

I'm thinking it's the power supply. When I try to turn it on, I can here a relay clicking four or five times like an over current safety.

Is there a way to get a schematic of my TV to try and track down the problem. I work in the electronics field.

I'm not a rich man so a repair shop is out of the question.

SOURCE: RCA Model F36450 Chassis ATC113CA1 won't power up

No sir it probably isent a power supply problem as in these sets it wouldnt act like that. First thingm to check since you say your a service tech, is in the horizontal output check and see if the horiz. output transistors shorted. If its not then check a small coil off the base of the horizontal output transistor. its really the base drive coil so take it out and scrap off the ends BOTH ENDS and reinsert and also resolder the horizontal driver transformer. This may or may not fix your problem But if it dosent order if you think ther sets wrth it the flyback transformer as this is a big problem in these sets if the for mentioned things did do the trick. follow the kit instructions that come with the flyback transformer!! Dont take any short cuts. Make sure you do take out the horizontal output transitor or at least unsolder all the leads when tesating it for a short. Good luck

YOU might have a bad relay or a bad solder connection in the relay control circuit. Sounds like a bad solder joint. Stargazer

SOURCE: RCA 36' tube tv won't turn on

possible that a fuse blew while transferring tv, most like to happen despite care in handling if tv was on for a while, kind of like moving a light bulb that is hot and suddenly filament breaks when you move the bulb slightly. Other than that I'd say it's a good time to get a new tv just in time too for the digital transition.

If a standard set (glass picture tube) you have either a problem in the main power supply or in the High Voltage circuit which is triggering shutdown as protection.

What is the model number of your TV?

I have a RCA 32" Flat Screen TV that shut off and

Hi,

The sound was came from the clicking of the relay. This kind of symptoms is an indication of out-of-regulation condition on the power supply section. This is caused by faulty electrolytic capacitor. It will dropped the supply voltage and will trigger that kind of symptoms.

Faulty electrolytic capacitor mostly has a physical indication of fault like bulged/dome at the top and can be easily identified. See sample picture of faulty electrolytic capacitor below.

capacitor with bulged/dome at the top.

Check these parts on the power supply section. Once found, replaced it with same capacitance and working voltage which is printed on its body itself. Click this LINK for more info regarding electrolytic capacitor.

If you don't have necessary tools and test instrument and can't troubleshoot the unit yourself, I would advice you to look for a qualified TV Technician to isolate the faulty parts.

Hope I helped you.

Have a nice day!

My hitachi 46f500 tv wont stay turned on. you turn it on the red light comes on and then you here it click once then shuts off. It has done this in the past, then for no reason it will start working again.

This model like most of these sets uses up to 3 mechanical relays; they are black and square (follow power cord into set) and have a history of either opening or not when in use---I have seen several where it would not shut off or turn on etc where you could tap on the relay and the set would work..
The only other reason would be a bad solder connection in the same area---tap and the set works and it is either the relay or a bad solder connection.

The click is the relay shutting off and points to where your problem is.

If you have questions comment here and I will help.

RCA L26WD12 26IN, LCD TV will not turn on, the red off light stays on with no response from the on off button or the remote, to get the tv to turn on I have to unplug and plug in the power cord five or six...

It can be due to unstable DC power from the power supply due to bad caps, or bad main board (I had to replace my main board, and later on the inverter boards). You may want to think about putting money into this TV.

A32B43W Power Problem

The relay is part of the overcurrent circuit. This denotes a problem in the HV power supply. Try to resolder the relay just in case the it has a cold solder joint. If this does not help get a schematic and a multimeter and check to see if the voltages around the power supply seciton of in order. If you do not have a background in electronics please take the set to a TV repair shop.

TV Clicks on over and over

When you get this "click" it is the power supply trying to start. This indicates a short somewhere. Most of the time it is the horizontal output transistor and probably the flyback transformer that have shorted. Stargazer
