Proscan is produced by ON Corp. They are a leading producer for most LCD screens used by a large group of TV makers. Proscan used to be a high end RCA product. The CEO of On Corp was the head of the Proscan division of RCA. After Leaving RCA and Beginning On Corp he purchased the right to the Proscan trade mark. Thus a new beginning for a old name. Many people still belive it to be an RCA TV but it is not. It has good ratings in most reviews for TV's in it price range. It is now a sears brand much like Dynex is a Best But brand.
Hey it not a sears produce he save sears sale it mostly if it was a sears product how come Walmart a compaditor of Sears will sell it online at Walmart.com. You just miss read what he say he said that Sears just carrying lots of them and what they prefer to sell Sears doesnt on proscan rights or even make them. I know you been dealing with Sears for 40 years but like a few years ago not a long time ago a guy bought out sears and took it over and made it better. So please do your reaserch before your bad mouth a brand name and a company.
Since I just found out it is a Sears product, that raises many red flags for me. My experience over 40 years of dealing with Sears has been, to say the least, worse than pulling teeth without anesthetic. I would not buy one because I don't believe that Sears would give you good service on your warranty if you needed it. Thanks for the info.
Let the buyer beware! Proscan was taken over and as a result the new owners do not acknowledge or support products manufactured prior to their take over. How do I know? have a 4 year old 37" HD TV, after moving I misplaced my owners manual, no problem I'll go on line and download one, yes? No! the model number isn't listed in their range of TV's? No problem, I'll call the manufacture, the usual sh*t! English is the operators second language, no joy from her, I asked for a supervisor. She explained that there was no information or support for equipment manufactured prior to the take over? Go figure? Will I buy a Proscan product in future? No way, as I said let the buyer beware............
I bought a 39" Proscan in 2013 and have loved it!! The picture is EXCELLENT!! Today is the first time I've had any problems at all; the picture has gone black and I'm going to see if it can be repaired. If not, I'll buy another Proscan!!
