Here is the link for the user manual for your amp if you need it; There appears to be no designed error code indicated by a flashing power light. the light is either on or off.(page 2) I think therefore that your amp has a major problem in the control part of the circuitry, almost certainly something that needs replacing rather than being repairable. if you wish to try yourself then if you can open the amp up, and post us some clear close up photos then we may be able to help. If you wish to find the nearest Kenwood dealer then; Hope this helps - sorry if it is bad news :)

Boss 5500 watt amp stays in protection mode

The amp is going into protection mode because one or more of the output transistors is fried inside. You want to check for resistance on all the outputs. I repair these everday. Either have it repaired or do it yourself. I buy broken amps and I also repair them. Let me know if you want to sell or repair or want instructions on how to repair it.

Which speakers (Front/Rear) to buy that match Kenwood KAC-M846 4/3/2 Channel Amplifier.

I don,t no where you are reading thease articles from,I installed car audio equipment for over 40 years, Untill i retired a couple of months ago, Who ever is writeing those sort of articles does not have the slightest clue what they are talking about, It is the opposite way around, It is allway better for yor (Speakers) To handle more power then what your amp puts out, Then you will not blow the spaekers, It is best to get speakers at least 20 watts more then what your amps maximuin (RMS) Watts are, Hope this helps you out, (PS) 50 watts (RMS) Is what most people go for, It is in no means (Under) Powered.

JBL amp, worked fine untill 2 days ago. protection light on..

might have roasted your speakers voice coils a little which may be sending the amp into protect mode throw a speaker on it that you know works and if it doesnt trigger the protect circuit then you probably have a blown or almost sub.

either bad ohm load or over heat if the ohs on the speaker wires to the amp are lower than specified use in the manual it will act funny cause it is pusing harder than its meant to and if it gets too hot either bad location or bad amp you can try turning the gain down a little until the amp stays on constantly at high volume

To bridge a Kenwood KAC-9102D

Hello laurogleal,

The Kenwood KAC-9102D is a mono amp. There is no bridging. Having two sets of terminals is just a more convenient way of connecting two subwoofers. The amp is stable down to 2 ohms impedance, so it is safe to run 2 4 ohm loads in parallel.

Hope this helps.

Install my Kenwood KAC-9102D in my 2006 Acura RSX Type S

You will probably need to use a Line Output Converter (LOC). They're available at virtually any shop that sells car audio.

Many times, the outputs of the OEM amplifier will have significant DC voltage on them. This could damage the input circuits on the kenwood amplifier.

Let me know if you have any other questions.
