Re: problem with os

A hard drive just stores infromation and there could just be a bad sector on the drive. I would invest in a new hard drive before it packs in completly. It's happened to me a few times, most of the time they go with out a warning

Ok it may be that your hard drive is failing, go to my computer, explore and o your 'c' drive right click and click properties. In next window click tools tab and then click error checking. Click check now and your drive will be checked for bad sectors and file errors, although it may ask you to restart your pc first, but it can take about 30 minutes to 1 hour to check and repair if neccasary.

P4m80-m4 usb giving 1.0 instead 2.0

You have not mention your Operating System(OS) on your PC System.

To get USB 2.0 support for VIA Chipset Mainboard
1. For Win 98 OS, you have to install "VIA chipset USB 2.0 driver"
2. For WinXP OS you must install, at least Service Pack 1, (recommended you install the lastest Service Pack 3) to to get USB 2.0 support.
3. Install the VIA Chipset drivers for your Mainboard ie "VIA Hyperion 4-in-1 driver v5.12A".

Hope it helps.

Hello there.i bought a transcend 2GB pendrive.when i connected it to my pc,a 'hardware installation wizard' opened.i do not know how to get out of this problem..pls provide me the steps for the same...

unless the pendrive needs software(usually it don't) it should install auto... unless you are running a OS older than winxp , if so you may need to upgrade your OS

TheY said my mother board is bad. All the computer does is come on and tells me that there was an error on shutting it off. I don't have the C/D to it. I can't get it to stay on at all now.

They r wrong...if your MB is out then it wont boot up...
start your computer and press F8 immediatly after power on....if you get the option to boot in "Safe Mode"
Do that and let it boot...if u get the Desktop then just shut down and let it boot normaly...
....if it comes on then ok else
your OS is corrupt...if possible get the WinXP install cd and boot from that and try re-formating the disk and re-installing the Windows OS
for more info on that...go to my site
and follow instruction there on different pages...
pls leave a feed back here if my suggestion helped
Thanks and regards

I was installed windows 7 on my vaio vgn-sr290j and my storage controller driver disappear from the device driver list..and it's from microsoft..please help me to solve this problem..

let me tell u some thing....i am using Microsoft product since 1992-93 (OS,Excel, Word etc)
Cardinal Rule 1 - Never run behind a product just released by Microsoft without the world testing it...
Cardinal Rule 2 - Microsoft uses people like you to get feedback on the products that they release with millions of bugs in them so that they doen have to spend R&D on what issues the product has....
Dont get into this professional trap....
Cardinal Rule 3 - Win98, WinXP is a timetested OS, i suggest u use it's full licensed Corporate Edition

As Win7 has just been relaesed Microsoft may be still working on how to get back the storage controller, they may release a "Patch" (a wise name of their stupidy...ha ha ha) that u could use to restore it.

Cannot install winxp on asus p5gc-mx/1333

probably ur ram is faulty..replace with a standby n see..
also check for defective capacitors on the main/mother board..
reinstall os..

dis also do happen when ur cd/dvd rom drive is down or the cd frm where u r installing is corrupted..

the above often take place with some error message(s)/blue screen..
but if there's no such displaying, esp if hangs/stops/power off during installation, it may b caused by the main/mother board or even the battery.. ur system admin/vendor....
