Blackberry Device Software 8300, Version 4.5

According to RIM, device software version 4.5 can be used on an 8300. I downloaded it and the version 4.7 desktop manager. But, when connecting the device to install it, it refuses and comes back with a message that version 4.2 is the correct software. I had even removed 4.2 from my computer. What is up??

Is the software updated to version 4.5 on your phone? You can check it under the settings icon that looks like a wrench.

There has been several updates to the Blackberry Desktop Manager software recently. The current version should be

4.7.0.32 Dated November 4, 2008. If it isn't it should downloaded and installed.
