Question about Apple iPod touch

1 Answer

I have an ipod touch 16gb (just under 12 months old). The back light on the screen appears to have stopped working. If I put the ipod under a screen on in direct daylight, I can still see what on the screen. The ipod still appears to work otherwise. Any ideas?

The iPod is a portable music player made by Apple. As of early 2011, Apple sells four models: iPod shuffle, iPod classic, iPod nano and iPod touch. If your iPod experiences a problem such as not responding or freezing, you can reset it to see if that takes care of the problem. IPod Shuffle The iPod shuffle is the smallest iPod model, with 2GB of storage.
It has no screen and attaches to your clothing with a clip, making it well suited for exercising while listening to music.
When it doesn't respond, or if the status light is solid red, you can reset it.
Slide the three-way switch left toward the word "Off," covering the green bar. Wait 10 seconds, and then slide the switch back to reveal the green bar to turn it back on.
IPod Classic
The iPod classic has a 160GB hard drive for storing music, videos and pictures.
If it experiences a problem, you can easily reset it.
Slide the "Hold" switch to the "Hold" position and then slide it back.
Press "Menu" and the center button simultaneously on the click wheel and hold them for about six seconds, until Apple's logo appears on the screen.

It has a pedometer and an FM radio.
If the iPod nano doesn't respond, reset it.
Press the "Sleep/Wake" button and the "Volume Down" button simultaneously and hold them until the screen gets dark, and then wait a few more seconds until the Apple logo appears on the screen, followed by the home screen.
IPod Touch
The iPod touch has a touch-screen display, two cameras for shooting pictures and movies, and Wi-Fi for accessing the Internet. Its capacity ranges from 8GB to 64GB, depending on the configuration.
You can use the iPod touch to send email and make video calls, as well as play games and run applications. If the iPod touch freezes or otherwise isn't working, you can get it running again after resetting it.

I got my ipod touch wet with water, an my touch screen stopped working.then i blew in it where u charge it an te screen turned white so i let it dry an now the touchscreen wont work an its like really...

Throw it in a bag of white rice for a 5 days. Restaurants use it in their salt shakers to absorb moisture.

Apple won't replace units damaged by water, but theres a guy on You Tube that will show you ways to defeat the system so you can trade in your ipod under warranty for a new one.

Cheers Old Chap.

I updated the software on my ipod and it stopped working after that so i reset it to the factory settings, and it turned on but then as soon as i start putting the music back on it it doesn't work.

Try plugging it in to your computer and iTunes. Click (Restore) and the software and songs will be replaced. If this doesn't fix it and it's under warranty (12 months), take it to your nearest Authorised Apple Service Centre and they will get it exchanged in a couple of days

It appears to be a sleep state that the phone enters into.
How, I do not know. If your iphone/ipod touch screen is
pure white...here's a simple fix, gaurantee to work.
Hold the power button, and the home button, and the apple
logo will appear....release both buttons, phone will resume back to
normal.

Lost password on my ipod touch 16gb

The only way to unlock any ipod with out the password is to restore it using itunes. In case you are unfamiliar with how to do a restore on your ipod touch i have posted a step by step below. Take care :)

Last Modified: February 16, 2009 Article: HT1414 Old Article: 305744 Using the Restore function for your iPhone or iPod touch is part of standard troubleshooting procedure. Restoring your device will erase all data from your iPhone or iPod touch, including songs, videos, contacts, photos, calendar information, and any other data. All iPhone or iPod touch settings are restored to their factory condition.
Whenever you restore your iPhone or iPod touch, Apple highly recommends that you perform a sync prior to restoring in order to back up any changes since your last sync. If you have movie rentals on the device, see this document before restoring.
Use the following steps to restore your iPhone or iPod touch:
Make sure you have the latest version of iTunes installed and running before attempting to update. Connect your iPhone or iPod touch to your computer. Select your iPhone or iPod touch when it appears in iTunes under Devices. Select the Summary tab. Select the Restore option. When prompted to back up your iPhone or iPod touch's settings before restoring, select the Back Up option (as seen in the image below). If have just backed up the device, it is not necessary to create another.
Select the Restore option when iTunes prompts you (As long as you've backed up your device, you should not have to worry about restoring your phone).
Once the restore process has completed the iPhone or iPod touch restarts and displays the Apple logo while starting up
