Question about Ariens 34 In. Zoom Series Riding Mower
I bought a new Ariens Model 920001 snow thrower at Home Depot a couple of months ago. At the time I assembled it and "ran it in" for 15 minutes as per the manual and everything seemed fine. A couple of days ago I needed to to use it and when I pulled the recoil starter it started right away but stalled out after a few seconds. I pulled the starter again and it ran about two seconds and then stopped. The next time I pulled the starter the motor could not be turned. I checked the oil level and it was okay. Suspecting the recoil starter I removed it but that wasn't the problem. I removed the spark plug and it looked soaked in oil. The motor still wouldn't turn with the spark plug out.
I had added gas stabilizer to the fuel when I filled it for the first time.
Any idea what could have gone wrong?
Thanks in advance for any suggestions.
If there is oil on the sparkplug, you have blown a cylinder seal. It will need repair.
