The focus lens is jammed. if it is hard to spin, force it a little and it should snap back into place.

What I would try to do is, loosen the screw so its not stiff to adjust, adjust the lens to the right position then tighten up the screw again. Hopefully this should work for you!!

Focus

Could this be failing batteries? If you don't use the flash and keep the camera on the same subject so it doesn't need to refocus between shots, what happens then?

I have a ranging 100 i need the manual for

I just got one complete with manual and original box. It was not working, so I disassembled it and repaired the internal mechanism and recalibrated it for distance and vertical image coincidence.

Disassembly is easy (two screws at front and rear) and the "repair" for mine was to lubricate two pads that the mechanism rests on that were "sticky." I removed the mechanism, but that is not required -- just manual manipulation of the distancing arm should be sufficient to expose the lubrication points. Do not use 3-in-One or similar oil -- that thickens with time. Lacking the "proper" oil type (watch maker's), I would use a small drop of motor oil.

Calibration is simple -- use an object with a known distance that is about half the range of your unit. Adjust the "focus" knob to make the two images coincide (don't worry about vertical coincidence yet). Hold the thinner of the two distance adjuster knobs and turn the thicker one until the tape displaying the distance reads the actual distance to the known object. I would then adjust the image coincidence vertically by turning the screw on the bottom of the unit on the right (near the loop for a lanyard). It will be stiff! Turn it about a quarter of a turn and recheck vertical image coincidence -- if worse, turn it back the other direction a half-turn. Repeat with small turn increments until the images coincide vertically. Once that is done, recheck the distance calibration.

My webcam is out of focus. How can I refocus it? Turning the wheel on the front doesn't work.

The wheel that holds the lens is broken - its thread is gone. Disassemble the camera - don't broke the wires from the data cable, start the pc and adjust the camera to be focused on the position you will use it normally, use a drop of glue to fix the lens in place and put it all back together.

Constantly refocuses while taking video

If you aren't planning on zooming in or out, you can lock the AutoFocus by:
- first assign the shortcut key to the AFL (Auto Focus Lock) setting (by going to Menu, then "Set Shortcut button") - then while filming, press the shortcut key (which you have assigned to the AFL setting) and the focus will adjust and unlock (the AF will unlock when you press any other button). - each press of the shortcut key will adjust and lock the focus

Viewfinder of Sony DSC-H2 does not work anymore

Viewfinder has focus lever at bottom, please adjust viewfinder internal focus as per your eye sight looking on-screen display. Every thing will be fine after that.

Infocus LP70 dropped and now the focus is jammed.

try pulling the outer ring out a little while twisting it (you won't break it). then try the inner ring. if it wiggles, you need to take it apart- and that's not a pretty job.

Veiw finder(eye piece ) out of focus pictures are fine

Use the diopter adjustment to refocus the viewfinder to your eye.

Point the camera at a sign or something with writing on and half press the shutter button to focus then move the little adjuster at the top right of the viewfinder until the image in the veiwfinder is in focus
