Check the breaker first in your breaker panel. I am sure you have and also the wiring in the back. The thermal fuse or hi limit fuse is fairly easy to check. It is probably located under the top of the dryer. You can ohm it out or if you don't have a tester, simply bypass the fuse (probably short barrel shape) and then try to turn it on. If it does, then the fuse is bad.

There are a few different scenarios which would cause the dryer not to start. First, make sure you door switch is functional. Second, the white thermal fuse, located on the exhaust housing may be open. Worst case scenario would be a defective timer or motor. Either of these may not be cost-effective to replace.

I need service manual for maytag dryer mde7400ayw?

Hello,
Thats a older model and service manuals for it are no longer published. Thier is generic service manuals available at Lowe's HomeDepot and your local public library. However they only cover basics of all dryers and dont get into paticulars of any one brand. What kind of problems are you having we here can guide you through since some of us have extensive knowledge on the Maytag and other brand dryers having been in the field and serviced them for decades

Maytag Atlantis MDE7400AYW timer has been replaced but the dryer won't stop drying on it's own. What is the reason? I have the same problem... the timer on mine doesn't seem to work. Any ideas?

The wire connections to the timer may have not been made correctly when it was replaced bypassing the OFF contact in the control circuit.  There should be a wiring diagram inside the front or back panel that you can check.

it's probably your sensor assembly. go to www.repairclinic.com/Appliance-Parts?s=t-MDE7400AY-%3d%3d&z=100 . That is the best possible solution and not too expensive. Good luck.

Removing Timer Knob on Maytag MDE7400AYW dryer

Can anyone help me? I have a Maytag Atlantis that my parents just gave me and my wife. Unfortunately, they accidently removed the model number sticker in the door area. I need to buy a new timer but no one can find which timer to get without the model number. Via the internet, I think I narrowed it down to either the MDE7400AYQ or the MDE7400AYW....but they both look identical to me. Can anyone tell me what the difference between the two is so I can go get the part?
