Rockband PS2 brand new disc will not read

Brand new Rockband PS2 disc will not read in slimline console. No scratches and all other games will play fine on the console. Error reads "the disc can not be read" and "there is no data". Please help, as this is our boys Christmas present (Aussie time) and they can not play their game.

This usually happens when the lens eye is dirty, to clean use a Q-tip with some rubbing alcohol on it. the disk tray should be cleaned also. use the other end of the Q-tip to dry the access rubbing alcohol. Also you can use compressed air in a can to blow dirt and dust out. Hope this solution help your problem.

I had a similar problem with a "Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty disc".
Disc would not play, but it was in mint condition. I had no choice but to return it to the store and get a new copy, which worked.
There must have been an error when the company burned the disc.

we have the same problem returned the disc 4 times and none of the new discs will work. we tried the game on a friends console and it works just fine (we have the slim-line and my friend has the older ps2 console) Very frustrating since all other games are playing just fine including guitar hero 2. guitar hero world tour simply will not read

We are having the same issue with GH World Tour. We exchanged it and the new one isn't being read either.

We have the same problem. Fortunately, I bought the "Legends of Rock" game, also, so my son is at least able to play the guitar, but are unable to play the drums/microphone without the World Tour disc. Any help would be appreciated.
